I've looked and looked. All I can find in the Argentine press is that he's going to play RG with protected ranking of 7. I read at about 5 articles, but no mention of a tune-up prior.

I honestly think that this may or may not be his last injury layoff ( hopefully not), does he even have the will to start competing again with the big boys anymore? Can he? There are so many question marks around him... I keep re-watching some of his older matches like a fool.
Moxie629 said:It's kind of unbelievable, and so unfair. It's been the same with both wrists, too. He must feel like he's caught in Groundhog Day.

The only one I can find is in Spanish, from a week ago. It says that after 2 weeks without hitting, the wrist (left) started to hurt again as soon as he started practicing. It mentions that he has an invitation to Madrid, but his whole clay season, including RG, is now uncertain. That clay is a tough surface to try to test his fragile wrist on, and that he hasn't played on clay since Rome 2013. (Can that be possible? Wow. :-/ )
mrzz said:Maybe he simply changed the approach completely. People were always saying that he rushed all previous comebacks, he could be just doing the exact opposite (even if I read the article, and agree that it sounds pretty pessimistic).
If he could find a way to become healthy again, not only he could become a treath to the top 3/4, but, given his age, enjoy himself a period of dominance in two or three years time (if not before).
Moxie629 said:Well, the article says he is trying to take a conservative approach, rather than rushing it.

But, he did not. Now, he can play there only if given a wild card. Madrid has not yet announced the
wild cards. I really doubt that JMDP will be playing there.
p.s. They have given one wild card to Almagro, other three are still open.
