Kskate I did mention that in my post? read above, the main thing I like about her this year she has been able to close out matches?
I read it. You said most posters here didn't think she could do it. You're right. Based on her history, we didn't think she could. I'm happy she won. We've seen all too often the next match the player has a harder time winning when they are expected to.

I know that but I was sure she could it and she did.

Well when coach is dad or mom I get it, but if you want a slam you have tough decisions to make.
I have been thinking more about parent coaching, I suppose in ways it is hard to tell a parent that has been coaching you for sometime that the player feels to find a coach for the next level, especially when that parent like Coco's dad has achieved with her so far, they seem very close. In saying that the coach ( parent) has to accept and take on board the best interest's of his daughter's ( Coco) career moving forward. To me Coco's game is at a 'stalemate' at present she needs a credited coach, I think Wim Fissette would be a great choice and he is available

Interesting match ups today,

I favor Kvitova, Collins, Swiatek and Azarenka

Though I am just hearing the humidity is already very high, that might affect Petra, still she won against Mugu in hot conditions

Some good ladies matches today with two Americans playing. I think probably the easiest match will be for Iga. I hope Jess and Dani both win. The toughest match will be between Azarenka and Pliskova. I think Vika will come through there.

Petra played in the heat in her previous match with Mugu which to date for me was the best womens match so far in my opinion,
Hopefully Peta brought her reliable serve with her today or else she will be in trouble
