She has a tough match next against Kontaveit, but hopefully she gets another night match and has the crowd behind her.
Anett can be so up and down. I bet she will be nervous at the start of the match. I think Serena can win.

Serena probably play her doubles match with Venus before her next singles match with Konaveit

New Yorkers have shown her love, these fans can be fickle.
I did break down a bit in that tribute. It's hitting home. In the "We *heart* Serena" crowd love, I think they "A" area must have been drunk, but...good try. LOL. Seriously, lovely and deserved tribute. She's not done, but we can't wait for ever to show love and appreciation. Day One is as good as any.

Good win for Tomljanovic in straight sets over Muchove 63 76 (5)
To me Muchova is a Top 10 player, has soo much variety in her game, though injuries have cost her soo far in her career

I left you a message on Rafa fan post, about Ben Stiller and Rafa and his team going to a restaurant in NYC

I like the way they did it. By having it on the first night, they were guaranteed to get the most stars in attendance and it actually was a better overall mood because she won the match. Remember when RG had that one for Jo Willy? It was brutally sad.

This story has a lot of people missing, Richard and Venus .I was hoping to see them at this ceremony. They have played a big part in Serena 's success.
Richard is in poor health and cannot travel. I'm not sure why Vee isn't there. Maybe getting ready for her match tomorrow she didn't want to be out too late.
