Heck of a match between Sloane and Madison,Sloane to serve for the match 6-5 and broken now in a t/breaker for the 3rd set
Madison had a 5-3 lead in the t/break,though bad UFE,gave the lead back to Sloane.

Madison was leading 5-3 in the t/break,it was her UFE that was her undoing in the match,at least this match was closer than the final in 2017 when she was bagled in the 2nd set

Osaka had a walkover to the next rd as her opponent Danilovic was suffering with a 'viral illness'

Muguruza who had lost all of her 3 prior matches with Petkovic,finally wins 64 62,Garbine moves into the 3rd rd,only the second time in her career at USO.
Garbine will play Azarenka in the 3rd rd.

It will be a good learning curve for Fernandez,though Kanepi is a player that can blow you off court when she is 'on'.Ferandez must be able to absorb the power of Osaka,anyway we shall see.
