Nicky happy meds are wearing off..I don't why people continue to think he will win a major soon.,he can't hold his head together for an entire week yet alone for the entire forthnight.

Kyrgios is down 2 sets to 1 and a break in the 4th to Millman? Is he not feeling it again today? I swear - he's got more mood issues than I do on even the most menopausal days. Would he be more motivated today if Roger had lost to Tiafoe last night? Prolly not...

I guess you did not watch the Cincy final, where Grigor exposed Nick's game weaknesses.
On top of it, he is fragile. He is heading towards a career rattled by injuries like Kei or Milos

I saw the Cincy final and I didn't see Dimitrov expose anything. What I saw was Kyrgios couldn't be bothered to try harder because he wasn't playing a big enough name. Had he been playing Federer, Nadal or Djokovic in the final you can bet his effort level would have been a lot higher than it was. It was similar to his "I cannot be arsed" match against Zverev in Montreal. He showed up to pick up his runner's up check and that's about it. All Dimitrov had to do was remember he had no pressure and wait to see if Kyrgios cared enough to try that day...which Kyrgios didn't.

Krygrios is the new Nishokori, Mr Glass...he is always injured

Nishikori...Raonic...Monfils...Tsonga...pick one. Although I will say that Kyrgios is miles and miles more talented than the one-note Raonic. I found it interesting at Roger's pre-tourney press conference when he was asked how often in the past he'd played injured or less than 100% and he said about 50% of the time. I'm sure that's the same for a lot of players...but some of these guys are more fragile than hot house orchids.

This is the difficulty with looking at draws at the start of tournaments. Who would have thought that Kyrgios wouldn't make it through to face Federer. Not that Roger is playing well enough to get there. But jeepers... Nick really has to clean his shit up.

Same reason they kept saying that Nishikori, Raonic, Dimitrov, etc., were going to win one soon. The Big 4-5 ARE all over 30 now. Sooner or later somebody else is going to win Slams. I just wouldn't put my money on that somebody being someone who doesn't even like his job. IIRC it was Darren Cahill who said on ESPN in Cincy that he thought Kyrgios would win 1 or 2 Slams - but not more than that because Kyrgios doesn't love the sport enough to be in it very long.

Exactly. My thinking is that it was tough on paper for Fed but if Nick went down it'd be actually about as good as he could've hoped aside from a semi-difficult 3rd round and a very difficult 1st round. Now he should have an easy 4th round and QF if he is healthy

Yes didn't see the final. Agree on his fragile nature. His biggest injury is in his head though.

Ok then. Each of us looks to a match differently. Grigor used a lot of slices to keep the ball low which is not comfortable in the rallies and led to many UE by Nick.
You should watch it again.

Massive mental injury, well said.
The guy is UNBELIEVABLE...
Did you watch his match today?
He was in full tank mode, blasting every ball as hard as possible, feigning injury. I think I saw him hinting that it was the shoulder.
Does someone with an injured shoulder hit 100 mph forehands almost every chance he gets?
My lord, what a mug...

Big applause to the youngest dad on tour, Taylor Fritz scores his first win in a major, defeating Baghdatis in straight sets.
I am just a little concerned that he may have tweaked his leg in the second to last point, when trying to stop at the net.

Feli Lopez. I know...not a remotely difficult match for Fed normally but the one from last night...
Do you have a crystal ball? We have not even started R2

If I did I'd shove it up your ass. Excuse me for looking ahead a couple rounds.
You are a rude person.Period.
You are allowed to look ahead, but Lopez is not a shoe in at all. He has been upset many times recently.

Well, both Deliciano and verdasco are expected to win their opening matches and will face off each other in R2 to earn
the right to face Fed (hopefully) in R3. Independent of which one makes there it will be a semi-tough match for Roger,
considering his back and the last night's match.

No need to get all bent out of shape over me talking about the expected/most difficult 3rd round opponent. What fan doesn't look ahead in a draw?

Can I raise my hand? Kyrgios is tiresome. After this loss I'm really over him almost as much as I'm over Bernie Tomic's boy-little-rich-boy whining. If you don't want to play tennis - then quit and go do something else. It ain't rocket science.

As for Roger - I'm sure his back is suddenly feeling a lot better knowing he won't have Kyrgios down the line IF he can get through the next 2 rounds. He's playing Youzhny in the next round. When was the last time Youzhny even broke Roger's serve let alone won a set off him? I looked it up - Halle 2012...and he still lost in straight sets 6-1, 6-4. But the 2nd round paycheck is $86,000, so there's always that.
