2 bagels. Djokovic DESTROYED the Spaniard. I mean he just blew him off the baseline. Hope No1e can keep it up: 3 more matches!!!

Well, at least Youzhny - Hewitt was a thriller. I really thought Rusty had it there in the 5th. Stunning fight out of ol' Mikael.

Thriller in that the winner was never sure until the end. Otherwise, Youzhny v. Hewitt was a bit of a snoozer. They were pushing balls back and forth for most of the match.

Well, I like scrappiness, and there was a lot on view in the match.

First set Berdych

I hope he takes care of stan quick. Nothing against stan or for Berdy, but I want a fresh tomas against Andy.

Wishful thinking, but T-Berd is not taking Andy out so your boy has an easier road to the final. :nono

Stan steps it up in the 2nd. Two breaks down, I think Tomas just needs to write this one off and start fresh in the third

I agreed that it was wishful thinking on another thread (maybe this one even?), although not that crazy as berdy has the head to head advantage. I rarely root for a path clearing event for novak (at least publicly), but I want an equal playing field in the final against Rafa, and let's be honest, Rafa ain't getting any trouble unless he starts giving away sets for free.

I know Berdy leads the h2h, but this is a slam and I just don't see it happening here. Maybe in a best of 3 scenario I might give Berd the edge.

I am not giving Berd the edge, but I think it would be competitive and he could win. Murray is definitely the favorite at slams but not as heavy as people are acting. Right now though its academic, as Stan is crushing it. At least stan has a couple hc wins. No matter what Andy's qf will be the most interesting.

Stan up the break in the 3rd early. And yes, at this point, Murray clearly has the toughest road to the final and his defense.

Yowza, Istomin got the first set over Murray! Andy needs to stop being so passive.

Looks like it's going to be Stan, unless Berdy digs veerrry deep.

Maybe Berdy is going to curse his luck at another windy day in NYC, but I thought Stan was clearly the sturdier today.

Well it will be Stan and Andy in the quarter. I agree Mox, Stan was chopping wood like a lumberjack out there.
