[split] US Open - Day 3 - Discussion (Men)

This will be an interesting match, that depends 50% on Rafa's Racquet and 50% on Fog's head.
If Fog can cease to be a head case and control his emotions and tantrums and focus, he sure can
make it interesting. But, will he? Also, not making 60 UFE (in 3 sets) will help as well.

I think the biggest worry for Nadal if he plays badly is that this isn't clay, meaning he might not be able to break Fognini as often as he'd like. Why is that a worry? Because Nadal is getting broken way too routinely and he's having to rely on his own ability to break his opponent at least twice per set to compensate.

Fognini v. Nadal could very well be a non-story. I think Ralf does it in three.

Goffin v. Agut should be a fun one. Two smaller fellas that can hit the ball.

Chardy v. Ferrer i would love to see Jeremy get this done in three or four.

IF Rafa would be playing well we know what would happen with Fog even if this last one would play his best but at the present we have to wait if Rafa wants to do a good job or not, all depends. of his mind/racquet
Novak? I think he still has a easy pass, Ferru? if he feels ok too though Chardy could be a tough opponent. Raonic-Lopez could be very interesting though I don't see the Canadian is playing his best and at the same time Feli is unpredictable, we'll see

Agree with you, Nadal plays well for the moment, he should get rid of the Fog in 3, maybe 4

Meanwhile, Jo-Wili's week 1 has been near textbook perfect. Hasn't dropped a set, hasn't been broken at all through 3 rounds (today was the first time he even faced a break point, and held both times).

He could be the biggest beneficiary of the early Kei loss. And Nole's biggest obstacle to the final.

Nadal v Fognini is on at 1:30am here so probably couldn't be arsed staying up that late. Seeing as The Fog had 60 errors in their last match over 2 sets will it be 90 in 3 sets today or more if he makes it a match ? :p
