CoCo makes history by being interviewed between sets during the match. She offered insight as to how she was playing and what she needed to do in the second set against Sloane. Wow, I don't know if many players would do that.

Wow I didn't know this was allowed:huh:

Yeah, I am kind of surprised mid match interviews were allowed. Not a fan of it at all. However, they chose the correct narcissist to try it with on court.

I see Stingy, Ruthless Serena came out today! It is nice to see. She has been hiding for quite a while.

$39,500 for 27 minutes of work. Not bad! Serena might be her hero, but the money is why she played hurt, imo.

I don't think she just played for the money. I think she wanted to play the match against Serena. If you think about it, very few people can say they were in the draw and her opponent should Serena go on and win the U.S. Open.

Not criticizing her at all. If I had a chance to play Serena and get $39,500 on center court, I would dust off my racket put on my big girl panties and go take my beating!

Pliskova lost, and I'd bet part of the problem was her playing all four tournaments of the US Open series. I hope that $15k bonus was worth it.

Is there a fine flower vase/glass trophy that comes with the USO Series title? Or just cash? :snicker
