Keys 6-1 Pegula. The depth of her ball is something else. Pegula will need to get better if to have a chance here. Keys 87% first serve points won

Despite which looks like a 'elbow injury' Vondrousova has had this injury before, she has now leveled the match with Stearns 6-3 2nd set. Stearns 1st set 76(3)
Vondrousova is now up a doubles break, she is still flexing her shoulder/elbow though she has now seemed to have found the consistency in her game, of course just as I posted that Stearns who looks up at her box at every point? gets one of the breaks back, Vondrousova breaks straight back, she is like a wall

Thank goodness I can watch these 2 womens match on my computor,

Jess looks flat as a pancake to me having troubles trying to break the Keys serve in the 2nd set, did break, Keys broke straight back
Keys up a break in the 2nd set leading 5=3 Jess will have to perform a 'miracle' to win this match
Jess does have a doubles match later with Coco

Madison Keys will play the winner of Stearns- Vondrousova match in the QFs, which at present looks like Marketa

Vondrousova serving for the match 5-3, it has been her consistency from early in the 2nd set that has set up this win ( despite having shoulder/elbow problems)
Vondrousova d Stearns 67(3) 63 62 and will play Keys in the QFs
Well done to Stearns reaching the 4th rd of a major, she can take a lot of positives from this match and tournament going forward in her career

Yes your analogy really sums up Jess state of mind. Its now going to be Vondrousova vs Keys.

A really delightful interview from Maddy, she seems soo relaxed and happy, talking to Reane Stubbs

I think all the doubles, and mixed doubles are catching up to her.She looked drained of energy.I hope this is the last time she over schedules herself.
I agree, Jess is still in the mixed as well in the doubles which she and Coco will play later today

I questioned her decision to play so many events as well. The sport is too physical these days for someone to play that much. Or at least not that much, and expect to win multiple events. Very rare.
