After 1st week,

Stocks Up for: Novak, Rafa, Wawrinka and Tsonga (each winning a title, official or not).

Stocks Down for: Murray, Gasquet and Federer (early loss for 1st 2, not meeting exp. for last)

Neutral: Berdych (lost in singles, but won doubles title),
Ferrer (won against Nadal, early loss in Doha, has Auckand to go),
JMDP (nice workout video in ATP, not in action yet, has Sydney to go).

Of the five Champions in the tune-up tournaments, three have already gone home
(LH, JI and JMDP) within a span of 4-days. Only two are still left (RN and SW).

obviously I was happy to see del potro win his first title of 2014..but like everyone else it was a surprise he chose to play the week before the aust open..

then I conned myself into thinking, its only 4 matches, and the final against Bernard Tankic was only 55mins, maybe he will be ok. erm ????.

See tuning up properly in the first week helps.

The AO final is between titlists at Chennai and Doha.

Winning title in the week right before AO will not help (ask JMDP and JI).

Yup. Everyone and his wife said that about Del Potro and Isner. The preparation of clowns. Clueless. Hope they learn from their mistakes.
