My first here: How to predict the winner of Wimby 13?
Madrid 09 Winner = Fed; Wimby 09 Winner = Fed.
Madrid 10 Winner = Nad; Wimby 10 WInner = Nad.
Madrid 11 Winner = Nole; Wimby 11 Winner = Nole.
Madrid 12 Winner = Fed; Wimby 12 Winner = Fed.
Madrid 13 Winner = Nad; Wimby 13 Winner = Nad.

Prior to Madrid becoming one of the clay Masters, it was Hamburg. Guess who won Hamburg in 07? Federer. Guess who won Wimbledon in 07? Federer. Who won Hamburg in 08? Nadal. Who won ... well, we know the rest.

This is really uncanny, guess who won Hamburg in 06? Tommy Robredo. Guess who won wimbledon '06? Tommy Ro...ah no sorry, Roger won.

Tommy was injured. Roger got lucky.

:laydownlaughing

Maybe we can use this thread to create a collection of weird statistics, patterns etc. Here is another one which EL Dude mentioned some time ago but now updated. Richard Gasquet made it to the 4th round in each of the past 6 Slams and lost on all six occasions. That's a remarkable consistency across all surfaces over a period of 1,5 years for a player outside the Big 5. It's 9 x 4th round out of his last 11 slam appearances too. Yet no other active top player is suffering such a huge drought of missing the QF stage in majors, his last and only QF showing dating back to Wimby 2007 when he even made the semis. So, if you are looking for safe bets and easy money for the upcoming Wimbledon, you might as well put some hard earned bucks on Richi Gasque4th. Death, taxes and Richi making the last 16, the only sure things in life.

That said he will probably bet against himself, lose early and run away with your money. :snigger

^ i guess that's a french thing. Julien Benneteau currently has a streak of 7 straight 3rd rounds (and 3rd round exits) at Slams.

Stats dont lie..

I was joking, which I thought was obvious given the ridiculousness of the statement.
