I knew Azarenka was going to take a wild card as she hasn't played since Wimbledon and will want to get match play and test the knee before the US Open. She is a contender for the title after all.

Just read on TAT that Sharapova will be looking for a new coach as she and Hogstedt have parted due to personal
issues with Hogstedt,as he is not able to travel in the future.Sharapova has also confirmed this on her personal website
saying she will be confirming her new coach in the next few days.

I reckon Hogstedt will be be Wozniacki's new coach. He fits the exact description of the coach they have been describing to the media for weeks.

I would think that Caroline would prefer a coach that would be able to travel with her full time?

I don't like taking this wildcard. Playing 3 weeks in a row isn't a very good idea just before the US Open. Ultimately if she goes deep in the first 2 she will withdraw from Cincinnati, but I preferred the original schedule of Carlsbad-Cincinnati, there is no need to be playing 2 weeks in a row.

That is probably just talk from the Sharapova camp, as a cover up for what the real reason is. Didn't Hogstedt claim something like that when he left Na Li, then a couple of weeks later was with Sharapova.

While I don't necessarily like that they are three in a row, I can understand where Azarenka is coming from in terms of making sure she is form ready for the US Open after an injury.

This morning it was 58 degrees here in NJ. Brrrr, but I'm not complaining at all (I hate the heat). Just look forward to a cool / cold USO!!
