Here is one way of thinking about it. In his entire life, he was won three slams after January.
What makes people think that in just one year, he will match his lifetime tally?

While this is a good point, the questionable state of his two main threats makes this a bigger possibility this year. But yeah, it's still early.

Exactly. With Federer's age, Nadal's injuries and Murray's mental weakness, this year may be a better chance for Djokovic than in 2011.

A good moment to talk about this would be if Djokovic wins both the French and Wimbledon, not a second earlier.

How's the business, Mr. Scrooge? I'm guessing you don't believe in Santa Claus, either.

Yes, right. In 2011 Rafa was healthy and in peak form. Roger was four years younger. Andy was...well, nevermind.

before the ao djokovic was the only player capable of acheiving the cygs.

Well, it is always fun to speculate, no?

Obviously RG is key, but the fact that there is more time between RG and Wimby this year helps immensely. Because if Nole wins RG, on top of the physical toll it takes, there would be this amazing relief and sense of accomplishment for having achieved the Career Slam that he would probably be a bit drained. This extra week gives him time now to relax, refocus and even play a small grass tournament to prep for Wimby. And let's say he pulls it off...

Off to the hard court season. At this point, it would be all about relaxing , picking the right tournaments and trying to peak at the right time for the Us Open. Maybe play Montreal for getting your hard court legs, not worry too much about going deep, but totally concentrate on Cincy , win it for the first time, carry all the confidence in the world to the Open. Breeze through the first 2-3 rounds, conserve as much energy as possible, stay focused, kick ass, take names and Bob is your uncle...

See how easy it was? Just open the champagne now I say...

As others have mentioned - the hardest thing to do in the sport. But, I think he's got the best chance since Federer back around 2005/2006.

Or since Nole himself in 2011. He seems now more vulnerable than in 2011.

Yes and no. I think Rafa was playing much better in 2011 than he did last year or has yet this year (although, it is unfair to judge), so in that sense, while novak is not playing quite at 2011 levels, his competition is not as scary this year.
