Novak is out. You have until the end of the first round to make your picks or change them!

Even though Novak withdrew, he did so after the main draw matches started. Hence, the
seedings are not altered and the draw is not adjusted. The lucky loser, Paul Henri Matthieu
takes Novak's spot directly with all other spots remaining unchanged. However, Paul
Henri Matthieu will not be officially called Seed #2. This tournament just will not have
any body designated as the #2 seed.

The bottom line is Ferrer still qualifies as Dark Horse and Paul Henri Matthieu qualifies
both as Dark Horse and as Wild Card.

To clarify further, Paul Henry Matthieu is not lucky loser. He actually won the qualifying.
The lucky loser is Mattosevic. As the qualifers are not already placed in the draw
(the qualifers got decided only today), the 7 winners of the qualifying tournament and
the lucky loser are randomly placed in the 8 vacant spots of the draw and thus PHM
got the coveted seat.

I think the first round ends tomorrow? Either way, I think it should definitely be ok if they are in before the start of the second.

Tommorrow, there are 4 second round matches (Ferrer, Wawrinka, Milos and Verdasco)
in addition to the remaining 8 first round matches. This is just an FYI. I will let the
contest organizers decide on what they want to use as deadline in view of this.

If Rafa and Roger meet in the semis and Federer beats Nadal, then I will begin to think there is a serious kink in Nadal's psyche that could imperil his chances in Paris. :)

Some would actually think that Rafa would retire if that happens. ;)

In AO, Roger had new found confidence. But, Rafa had pre-existing confidence.
So, it did not work out.

Now, we have a combination of confident Roger and a doubting Rafa to go with the
high altitude. Why can't Magic happen at La Caja Magica?

Well, I don't like to be too strict, so how about this: anyone who's been around and posting should get their picks in tonight/by start of play tomorrow, or they're waiting for an advantage. If there's no big upset tomorrow, and somebody who hasn't been around on the boards wants to play, we can let them, imo. Does that seem fair?
