I just heard that Charter and Disney are close to an agreement and my settle even before Monday Night Football tonight. Sure, throw tennis under the bus so you can settle in time for most of Football. I'm still cutting the cable.

Remember the feeling I had was MNF wouldn't get sacrificed to prolonged the dispute. Heck I don't think I should have to pay my bill in September.

Question for the forum that affects men's and women's tennis. It came up in the women's final at Madrid, and I think in the men's: If a call is overturned on a player's second serve, why should they get a first serve all over again? If it was second serve, it should still be second serve, should it not? It's a weird rule, and should be changed, IMO.

It's too much pressure to ONLY give a 2nd serve. It's almost like penalizing the player because of a stoppage in play which may last more than a few minutes.( Well a least a minute). Give the player two serves and move on.

Fair point, but if folks are trying to speed up the game, they should give this one over. It's like arguing if we should have lets on serve. If it lands in the service box, play it. I'm not committed to playing lets, but I'm not against it.

I was browsing through old threads while waiting on something, and I was surprised no one answered this. The reason is simple, the *point* is replayed, not the serve. The point starts with the first serve.

I know it is blatantly obvious when you write it down, but if you think of it, it is really the only logical choice.

I am still waiting for my favorite tennis player Denis Shapovalov to win something.
My thoughts are very similar to Elina Svitolina (too her credit she is much better than she was pre baby delivery), Denis doesnt have a consistent weapon to hurt his opponent. Yes, he can hit a few outstanding shots but have you ever seen Denis in a rally that last more than 28 strokes. His opponents know that he will eventually self destruct. Do yourself a favor and upgrade to Holger Rune. Better upside and he isnt afraid of the moment.

Cori "Coco" Gauff is calling on Roger Federer...

to launch women's version on the Laver Cup.

Coco Gauff, one of the biggest names in women's tennis, has made a passionate appeal to Roger Federer to create a women's edition of the iconic Laver Cup.
Gauff's proposal comes at a time when she is one of the top 10 players in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) rankings.

She shares the honor with fellow Americans Jessica Pegula, Emma Navarro, and the 2025 Australian Open winner Madison Keys.

Her suggestion for a women's Laver Cup seeks to give these top-tier female players an opportunity to compete on an international stage.

The annual event, co-founded by Federer, currently features only male players from Team Europe and Team World.

Gauff took to social media platform Instagram to voice her opinion, calling for the inclusion of top female players in such tournaments.

The idea of a women's Laver Cup isn't new. Tony Godsick, who worked with Federer to launch the original tournament, has previously spoken about the possibility of such an event.

"It will take a little time to think about a fitting format for a tournament with women," he said last year, adding that careful consideration is needed before making this change.

Despite suggestions for women to play in the current Laver Cup, Godsick has ruled that out.

He stressed on the uniqueness of the current format and its success, adding that including women would make it like the Hopman Cup, a mixed-gender event.

This shows a preference for keeping the distinct identity of each tournament rather than combining them into one competition.

I would welcome this concept.

A separate US versus the World competition for the ladies.
There's a very good camaraderie right now with US players, Gauff, Sloan Stephens, Jess Pegula, Danielle Stevens and Madison Keys.

Bring it On !

I read that article the other day, personally I have no problem with Ladies playing in Laver Cup, separate to the men, as long as they play the matches similar to the men
Top Europe women vs Top World women
