Hi and welcome :D hmmm i don't remember any notorious women from tennis.com....

There are no rules like on mug sites, just curse away :D i'm doing it nonstop and loving it :lulz1:

BB and the other admins are old tennis.com posters too we all know one another.....

i was a student in the tennis.com times, often posted drunk, didn't post as much as the other peeps but i was notorious too, imo it's easy to figure out from my current posts who i was :p

But i'm surely not one of the "legends" of that site, i missed for tons of times, parties, exams, metal bands, etc..... but i read it a lot cause it was tons of fun......

Good! I just got banned on talk tennis for writing sh*t. I wrote it with the asterick! No joke. Well either that or for about 8 other non events.
This site looks like more fun.

Now I am too curious to know who you were there and BB too.

women, some notorious some just not on tennis.com: Wolf Princess of MT Lupus, Kitty Tennista, JoVegas, Hedake, Laura Hollis, Hedake, Roxitova, Emily Wilds, Sandy de Marco, CarlyJOni, Hartt ....just a few that come to mind ...

Yup. I think I've always used that handle.
We may have been enemies ... though if you are who I think you are we had some very interesting exchanges and were also freindly at one point.
Do not want to bring battles from the old world to the new world ...
Were your "seconds" Wawrinka and Dimitrov?

Lol! Back then? Not sure Dimitrov was playing then, and Stan wasn't relevant. I'm talking about the forum that used to be on the tennis.com site. I never posted in the comments section. I'm not sure there was a tennis player apart from Roger I ever really advocated on those boards. Perhaps Pat Rafter and Tim Henman? We're talking quite a few years ago, when the MikeOnes and SamprasFans were in full swing. The main battles weren't Fedal to start with. It was more about Sampras supporters not willing to accept Federer's greatness...

Hmmm ...Don't think you're him then. He was a college student at the time, (I'm way older) and after Fed he was into Dimi and Stan, and both were relevant, rising let's say. This was around 2014? I went on tennis.com around 2012 maybe? the main fights were Fedal it was practically violent. The comments sections were under the "articles." but there was a separate thread for match calls, called "your call" that's where I knew this character, his handle had "fedberg" in it but something else as well. There was no forum that I knew of on tennis.com. You mean the site that was a web branch of the mag, used writers such as Tignor, Bodo?

Funny, I am kind of loathe to reveal my handle on tennis.com, simply because I don't want to revisit any of the old spats.
I am trying to stay out of Fedal fights on this site, though at the moment I don't see any going on. After awhile, they get tiresome, repetitive.

I just hope Rafa can get some HC finals again, and meet you know, and see what transpires. So far Fed is having a walk in the park, eating cupcakes. But that's how it goes sometimes!

Those rules are very stupid tbh, especially if you were using asterisks, you don't seem like someone who's cursing for cursing's sake

anyway, there are no rules like that here.....

as for TT, i used that place in the past for nerding, also i look at that place as the board of a shop so i never trolled there.... they shouldn't ban people for bad language though or for some softcore trolling fun...

yes, i'm talking too about the forum of tennis.com around 2005... then Rafa didn't have enough slams to be a GOAT contender, it was Sampras fans vs Fed fans.....

most famous sampras fans, i mean the trolls: sampras_fan, pistola, Pete, wizard07/Samson/hercules/clay death
and the Fedfans: Cracky, Roger (i think I Haychew here? not sure) and well, basically the rest of the posters, rogi was always popular.....

no offence Federberg but i don't remember you at all, you were a latecomer i think? after the cull? i remember latecomers like Kieran, nehmeth and the rest but not you...

Anyway, Strokes, invite your female friends here if they're having problems on other boards, this is a cool place, there are also other girls, weekday mornings while they're at work we chat in the old school chat thread, there are 3 girls there....join us anytime :)

Speaking about tennis.com, up until, say, two years ago there was a guy named Fernando, a really hard core Nadal fan, which used to post on the comments section. One day I read it by chance and after that I used to check and see what the guy posted. Sometimes he sounded like he was actually in the Nadal camp. He used to mix some spot on analysis with huge bias, but it was fun to read him. Has anyone ever seen him someplace else?

IamFernando.
He was nuts. A kind of laughingstock, like Kelly Gomez. He was definitely Not In the Camp.
But sometimes he posted OK comments on Rafa, it was just that Rafa was always the best even when he so obviously wasn't.

I still don't know why I was banned, my comments were ultra mild compared to many that weren't banned. It was a real Fed shop and I agitated a bit, tried to get the Nadal fans to stop hiding on one pathetic thread, and I did change things there a bit. I looked on it now, going incognito, and noticed it was back to pre "Strokes" days, Fed special lingo stat geeks talking to themselves about infinite goathood, Nadal fans doing the gossip thing about what Rafa had for breakfast. zzzzzzzzzzzzzz There were a few people there I liked but I don't think I want to enter that petri dish again.
I know how to get back on that site if I want to, incognito, but to hell with it. Like when you break up with someone, and see them a month later, and think "What did I see in them?"
There was one woman there who was wonderful: Ghost of Agassi. I mention her name because if you can go on that site as a registered user, invite her here, and tell her Get a Grip would love to chat with her again. I can't get on the site.

Seems you were on tennis.com before my time. I'll look for you weekdays mornings, thanks for the tip!

One of the funniest "events" in the already admined tennis.com's life was when admin made people's alt accounts public and Roger had ard 30-40 accounts, my jaw dropped totally, one of them was Peter North :lulz1::laugh::lol3: I was laughing so hard. It was obvious she was a noob admin, that was a very unprofessional thing to do but it was tons of fun :pompoms::drums:

That sounds great. I think the whole gang of you were there before me--someone mentioned Sampras fans not giving Fed his due--that's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before me.
BB seems to think it shut down in 2012? SO I still wondered if we're talking about the same place, because I was on from around 2012 till this spring.
Now it really is a dead duck. The mag too. I still go on to look at Tignor's wrong predictions. When I was on two days ago they had three feature articles on Fed--he was doing nothing, no news, but still three articles, out of five on him. Classic.

Definitely the same place but the forums and the Livefyre system were different sections. The Livefyre was more of a threaded commenting system like Disqus. There was a bit of an overlap between the two where both were in place but not long... they were basically phasing out the forums but not many forum posters made the jump to Livefyre and quite a few moved to Tennis Digital which was created by a guy called Tino who was the original developer of the Tennis.com forum.

Tignor was the sane one of the writers back in the day, it was always Bodo who made the wild leftfield predictions... I guess it rubbed off on him because when I read his stuff now and again, it seems like he's hoping on a home run of a prediction to come through.

OK thanks.
I was on Livefyre, and there were sometimes over 1,000 comments on those threads. People used it as a chat forum too, it was very chaotic, sometimes brilliant, sometimes funny, sometimes idiotic and almost always highly hostile.

Agree re. Tignor, when I first went on the site i thought he was good and actually learned from him. Bodo was a big Rafa basher and mainly a fool, but i will admit he wrote a good piece now and again.

His prediciton of a Murray/Kyrgios final is a riot (anything is possible!) just now I see two other writers picked Roger to win, and one, Nadal.

Too bad there aren't better tennis journalists out there.

Ha, ha... was going through an old hard drive, and found this from the old tennis.com days, think it was a battle thread between Federer and Nadal fans, and this was the Federer army (Fed fans on the board at time). Guess around 2009.

Think only me, @DarthFed , @Murat Baslamisli are still regular... although I think newage was @Ricardo

@Cosmo still drops by occasionally when Fed is playing.

Forgotten a lot of those names.

Wow, oddly enough I found this post while googling old usernames.

I miss Johnsteinbeck, messagesent, house, I. Haychew, garro, cosmo, and m0m0shiro. And, in a way, doogansquest.
