Ha, ha... was going through an old hard drive, and found this from the old tennis.com days, think it was a battle thread between Federer and Nadal fans, and this was the Federer army (Fed fans on the board at time). Guess around 2009.

Think only me, @DarthFed , @Murat Baslamisli are still regular... although I think newage was @Ricardo

@Cosmo still drops by occasionally when Fed is playing.

Forgotten a lot of those names.

^ Haha, nice one but those are the people after the double cull, tbh i don't know all of the old people behind the new accounts but i have my theories... imo ard 60% of the old people left, not only because the old faces were gone and the admin was meddling nonstop unnecessarily but also cause lots of annoying new trash posters came, and the particularly annoying newbs like nehmeth were made mods, that was the final nail in tennis.com's coffin for me ......

Loved the old posters like Cracky, Prangy, the Jankovic fan who always said va-jay-jay, Nalbandcoria, sampras_fan, and some of the serious posters were also cool like tenniswars, Haelfix and momoshiro...

That most of the old school serious posters also left after the culls speaks volumes of how trash the board became...

I was only a reader back then, but I recognize most of the names. But I guess those are from 2012, because one guy is called 17 slams and counting (btw this one I don´t remember)

The big cull was in 2007...... lol, on t4u it was easy to track the tennis.com trolls, you only had to check their join date..... It was funny when i saw familiar sounding people with intro posts like "i was checking the racquets blablabla that's why i joined" right after the tennis.com cull :lulz1::lol3::laugh::clap:

Speaking about tennis.com, up until, say, two years ago there was a guy named Fernando, a really hard core Nadal fan, which used to post on the comments section. One day I read it by chance and after that I used to check and see what the guy posted. Sometimes he sounded like he was actually in the Nadal camp. He used to mix some spot on analysis with huge bias, but it was fun to read him. Has anyone ever seen him someplace else?

That's hilarious Baron @britbox . I remember all those posters. And just like Cosmo; House, Garro, I.Haychew, Asmodeus and BobVance will drop in at least once a year. @Moxie Do you still talk to JohnSteinbeck?

Sadly, no. We used to compare tips on marathon running. Hopefully he'll come around here again.

This was before the 2010 US Open. I remember because we were all set up for that Fedal final then Novak saved those two match points against Federer and spoiled it.

But omg, so many blasts from the pasts. Doogansquest. That guy was something...

Yeah, probably 2010 then. I found a couple of others.

rdzzH2f.jpg

I'm guessing that was during one of Hercules/Wizard/Clay Death's re-appearances from an MTF ban.

Momo @BackhandDTL was always good poster - knowledgeable, took no shit and didn't suffer fools gladly.

lol i forgot he was a Murray fan!! WTF :lulz1:

Damn, there's a shortage of murray fans here, there's only Betty and Ann....

btw lately i'm getting out of the tennis.com nostalgia..... one thing that was fucked up there was the lack of women.... sure there were cosmo and moxie, but they're kinda like the cook from Bully:

so it was kinda like a big bachelor party with lots of starved out hobos chewing one another's dicks off....

so lately i'm in a t4u nostalgia period..... with the interconnections with Betty's mtf chat thread, the love triangles were epic there....

we need bitchy and sexy women here.... i'm wondering where the heck to get them....

Nikki was the last epic sexy and bitchy woman, she was very underrated.... i'm a huuuuuge fan of her posts..... the best thing about her was that she was REAL!!! do you know her BB?

little balless fedtard kid samanosuke killed her off as a poster by not wanting to meet her when she went on her croat trip.... can you imagine that???? every kid's dream, free visit from a beautiful 27 year old blond blue eyed german sex bomb and little fedtard kid chickened out......

Emma is a great poster too but ofc we can't be sure she doesn't have an extra ball or 2.... it would be great if she came back, that exit of hers was pathetic for a poster of her caliber, i would welcome her happily for sure.....

I know some young females from gaming but they don't know i'm posting here and they don't give a shit about tennis :S that sucks cause young nerdy girls are fucking hot......

BTW!!!! where are the young fangirls in general? i don't see any of them on any board..... no attractive young dudes in tennis or what? like ofc kyrgios is ugly like hell but zverev and some others are cute....

Iona was a huge Murray fan, but she hasn't posted in years. I'm not sure what happened to her but she stopped posting in 2014 or so.

oh yes i remember her!!!

Jelena fan was also a cute poster, she (or he) had a particular writing style that's quite memorable...

i think i saw her a few weeks ago here but she has very few posts on this board...

BTW i was just joking about Moxie and the other girls, they are cool too it's just that the drama going on on t4u and some mtf threads was like a soap opera and i miss some of that stuff,.....

i think part of the reason there's a lack of young fangirls on forums is that younger people chitchat only in the social media and virtual reality programs and they are not interested in old school forums at all.....

in the old days young people played tennis tipping, i don't think many young girls are interested in tennis tipping nowadays....... in Betty's thread Nikki+samanosuke were competing against Betty+orange all the time, i enjoyed following their rivalry...... now there's no visible competition in tennis tipping at all, like people teasing and having fun..... there are only some old ocd people in the lower sections playing it like crossword puzzle....

Anyway, this forum really got better with the merge, Obsi's thread is already a classic, ofc the small tight family mood is gone and with more people there's more fighting too but it's very funny and entertaining :lulz1:at last there's some life :D

It still feels like small family to me. Not everyone came over from TF with the merge. I knew the risk at the time but calculated it was better for the greater good.

There's not a lot of women posters period, even fewer that watch and support the WTA. So you're right, unless they are here for the tennis they're more likely to do their chatting in social media.

I'm always surprised when people do that, i've experienced that many times in the past!!!! That people who you're talking with every day don't bother to follow you if the old forum dies or some members get banned so a circle of friends choose to go to a new place, but i guess it's times like these when it turns out who the real friends are....

Well, both Mimi and Betty play tennis, but we're staying on tennis forums mostly for non-tennis chatting :lulz1::lol3::drums:

lol don't know what people's problems are with the WTA, it's the same as atp for me, ofc you can't expect the women to hit like men but the talent, the tactics, the competition and the drama are the same...... i hear lame excuses like women either push brainlessly or they bash brainlessly but it's bs, there are tons of brainless pushers and bashers in men's tennis too.... btw you can observe you usually hear these things not from real tennis fans but from gloryhunting fanboys :p or from men with small self-esteem :p

Was just browsing the site and saw this thread about tennis.com
I probably wrote about 20 novels worth of comments on that site--it was very intense and hostile and hilarious and wonderful all at once. Was on it for about 7 years--had stalkers, ex's, the whole shebang.
When they switched the platform to FB from Lifefyre it became a pale lifeless imitation of its former self. At first I didn't know whether to cry or celebrate that finally I was free!
Turned out I was too addicted to online tennis posting and had to find a new outlet. This is about the 4th place I'm trying.

Now I'm wondering if there's some old tennis.com posters on here I know?

You hoo???
I was a somewhat notorious character on that site ...

LOL!!! I'm a woman, that's a riot.
have you tried Talk tennis? if tennis.com was a bachelor party, TT is a male neanderthal convention with its own brand of insider lingo, handshakes, Federista stalinists, lunatic stats nerds and a very large gay closet. (I say this all as a progressive woman).

There were lots of women on tennis.com when I was there, and that 'special room' "your call" was overwhelmingly female; I liked to think of it as the 24/7 fart report on tennis for the terminally housebound.

Anyway, nice to see some talk of tennis.com, RIP.

BTW, I guess it's OK to use "profanity" here? I'm looking for the rules so I don't get banned, but I haven't found them. I have quite the salty tongue I'd unleash if it's cool to do so.

Hi and welcome :D hmmm i don't remember any notorious women from tennis.com....

There are no rules like on mug sites, just curse away :D i'm doing it nonstop and loving it :lulz1:

BB and the other admins are old tennis.com posters too we all know one another.....

i was a student in the tennis.com times, often posted drunk, didn't post as much as the other peeps but i was notorious too, imo it's easy to figure out from my current posts who i was :p

But i'm surely not one of the "legends" of that site, i missed for tons of times, parties, exams, metal bands, etc..... but i read it a lot cause it was tons of fun......
