A Goffin vs. Thiem final would be interesting. But we'll see if Deliciano can break that up.

Draw

Definitely pulling for Thiem tomorrow, especially since Bellucci beat the Beautiful Pablo Andujar. I'd like to root for Goffin, for the youngster final, but I'd like to see Lopez keep his late career surge going. (Sorry, McFly.)

Thiem plays Lopez today so you cannot pull for both of them.

I see we had that backwards. Anyway, Goffin just made quick work of Bellucci, so Goffin v. Thiem it is.

young gun thiem vs semi-middle-aged gun goffin in tomorrows final then. (b. dec1990 ?).

goffin bounces back from last weeks surprise defeat early doors, theim backs up last weeks title with at least another final.

I'm slowly turning into a Goffin fan; one of the best "also-rans" today! He's been quite impressive of late! :clap :popcorn  :dodgy: - If he's semi-middle-aged, what does that make us?

I got the final I wanted. I think Thiem will win this one (kiss of death). He's playing really well.

Saturday's results

Semifinals
(3) D Thiem (AUT) bt F Lopez (ESP) (2) 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-3
(1) D Goffin (BEL) bt T Bellucci (BRA) (5) 6-4, 6-2

Goffin leads the H2H 3-1, but Thiem won their last match back in February. They are both going for their third ATP title.

Hopefully it's a good fight. They both have reasons to show that they're hungry and willing to dig deep for a title. Thiem has the better record on clay, for what that's worth. Also, if we're hoping for a new star, he's the more likely, so: Go Thiem!

Ouch. Goffin DFs to drop serve, trails 4-2 in the second. Thiem playing with more agression.

Congrats to Thiem and his fans, aka Team Thiem.

He's playing well lately ... despite the unfortunate hair. ;)

I love it; gives him some character! We were just talking about how everyone's gone to being buzzed and some of the best hair is gone from the tour! Loved little pony-tail of Lopez and length/thickness of Verdasco's locks! I guess they can't be bothered with it anymore! Rafa's trying to hold onto what little he has, but he usually sweats so much, bald spots show up in the first couple games! :cover :nono  :dodgy:

I like Thiem's blond-buzz-do. Makes him stand out and it's obviously a good-luck do! The minute he does it, he starts winning titles. And he's the top seed for next week's hometown tournament as well. If he wins the USO, look for the Thiem-do to sweep the nation.

Ohhhhh, I get it! You're a secret-Nadal-agent, injecting Nadal in one way or another into every cotton-pickin' thread. Take your Nadal Obsession elsewhere please.

You really need to get over your obsession with this clown! I inject his name when it's pertinent! Rafa has great hair, but he's losin' it all the time; SORRY! :p :ras: :nono  :dodgy:

I understand he feels obligated to play, since it's in Austria, but the Rogers Cup is the following week, with Cincinnati right after that. That's too much, I suspect, for Thiem. He's going to burnout before he even gets to New York.

True. He should have skipped Gstaad, since I'm sure he is obligated to playing in Austria. Maybe he can crash out of the Federer Cup early and then get going again.
