^^ I think GSM was kidding about the injury, but let's hope Rafa escapes unscathed to face the Deathless One on Saturday... ;)

It sounds like he's serving well, too. I haven't seen a ball struck in anger this week, but the reports are positive on the serve and movement...

Crazy how good drugs are these days that Stallone has more definition at almost 70 years of age than he did in the first Rocky film over 38 years ago.

Look at him now compared to above!

uh...wow. Well to be fair, diet and nutrition are far advanced as well. Back in the 70's there were very few who had that kind of definition..maybe Bruce Lee comes to mind.

Being a young kid from Philadelphia at the time of Rocky (1976), he shared in the local paper about his "protein diet" to get ready for the movie - lots of raw eggs in a blender. Stallone at the time was basically broke and by some stroke of luck got the studio to invest in his story and allow him to star in it. Rocky2 - Rocky4 with more money and probably much better dietitians and fitness trainers than himself his physique continued to improve.
did you get to see any filming ? :) like when all those kids were running behind rocky on a training run then he sprinted off and zoomed up those massive steps ?.:D

If not for the injury, Rafa would have won today.

:)

Let's be honest. Rafa isn't injured, he's just scared of Roger.

In all seriousness, I don't believe Rafa has the yips. The two worst cases I've ever seen in tennis were the serving toss yips of Ana Ivanovic and Elena Dementieva. The worst case I've seen anywhere was NY Yankee baseball All Star 2d baseman Chuck Knoblauch, who became incapable of throwing the ball from 2d to 1st base.

fun fact: "Knoblauch" means "garlic" in german.
more fun, different Baseball player: "Langerhans" would mean "Long John". there's actually a children's song about a very tall boy called "Spannenlanger Hansel" (very tall Johann, and his fat little sister). Ryan Langerhans is 6'3".

and while we're at it:
if you look at where Rocky actually runs in that famous montage, you get a route of about 50 km (30mi). which would be rather impressive, especially looking at how he jumps some park benches near the end, and how he sprints up those steps. (i actually met someone from the group who organizes the Rocky 50k Fat Ass run that follows the 'real' course.

/spam while we're waiting for the final.
