Today was her 8th match in 12 days. She has lots of points to earn in mandatory IW and Miami.
Why risk the WHOLE YEAR with an injury because of too much play?... Its too risky.
Do the right thing Simona. See the big picture !
I just feel that its too much. She is on a cloud now and she cant think properly

She will play in Dubai for sure. :(
I just saw her interview after the match given later outside the court. She goes to Dubai and she will see what she can do there, in her words. She meant it and will not skip Dubai. Its on the WTA website.
She cant pretend that much on interview and then change her mind later. She is playing.

Calm down Si. Maybe she'll play a match and then withdraw. She doesn't want to take a zero at this stage.

no problems with a zero. its not mandatory. She was ranked 11 (outside the 10) before start of the year 2014, so she can choose which points to count and dubai is not a must.
even if she wins, its only about 190 points more. Its not worth the risk.
Thats what happens when the success bug catches you and you dont think rationally. I guess its a lot of money involved too.

btw, i am getting my logic back. I will soon be normal again :D

Well, she CAN win a slam. That doesn't mean that she WILL win a slam, but as long as you're able to win premier level and up tournaments you have a shot. Same players, same best of three sets format, only less hoopla.

Sloane Stephens made her career from hoopla! She made the semi final in the AUS Open 13 by playing 4 rounds against 4 players ranked below 40 and then an injured Serena in the QF.
The grand slams measure can be very deceiving and unfair in both directons, hype and no hype.
I will judge my player by his ability to beat top level players. For example:
beating 3 top ten players in 3 days! Simo! (3,7,10 gone down) :)

I know Si, just commenting on your exuberance

And I see Sloane has lost again...to Lucie S.

And Bouchard also went down to Beck

Is this a new trend in tennis: Young guns breakout

and start winning, get hyped up, then start losing.

Fortunately your fav, Simona, has not fallen victim to it

and actually seems to be improving.

6-1 1st set and Simona is a wounded duck. Juts quit and save yourself from a serious injury already :s
Her natural fighting instinct is her enemy today.
