This study is fascinating. Academia in the West is in serious trouble unless something fundamental is done.
Does anyone doubt that the Manhattan project may not have happened if the gender breakdown in academia was the same as it is now? Before anyone gets their knickers in a twist (therefore validating the thesis
), it seems to me that the solution should be to acknowledge the differences and after determining what we want to get out of science figure out how best to do so. The current path seems to be failing!
