Seriously, this is why it's a great sport...and a miserable sport!

Tell me about it. This sport will just lift you up to the joys of heaven, only to throw you down to the depths of despair the next minute. And vice versa! And there are no questionable fouls or penalties to blame!

It did look like Nadal was finding his range on the inside out forehand. Curious to see how the second pans out.

Nadal just lost this match.

damn you giving up on rafa...on clay? do you even know rafa?:cover

Exactly. I'd love to play tennis against Puppet Master. They lose the first point of the match and walk to the net to shake hands... :nono

great job by Stan. Coming in at crucial moments and saving so many set points and taking the first set. Now, one more to go to finish the proof that it is not a fluke.

I can totally see Stan taking the foot of the gas and losing the next two sets meekly but let's wait and see.

Yeah, I've been thinking that too. But could go the other way around too these days. Really no idea where this is going.

Stan gave him enough chances and he still couldn't capitalize. His serve is non-existent and the forehand is misfiring very frequently and it lacks depth. He needs to endure the barrage and wait it out, and I don't think he will... :nono

Lol, I'm sure Kieran has decided to have dinner since your post.

Yeah, I've seen this movie before. Player 1 gets set points, Player 2 plays out of his mind to take away the set, Player 2 exhausted, Player 1 wins 6-7, 6-3, 6-0.

Why would he do that? To avoid Mirka? :p

He's playing Wawrinka. It's not totally up to Nadal to win. Wawrinka could help out too.

Lol, we should totally play. I have to warn you though, I have the flattest, ugliest forehand and when I land it...

Stan really has him on a string this match. Rafa is covering A LOT of ground. And that's probably something he wanted to avoid win or lose this week.

Wow, that was poor. Can't believe he can't make that runaround inside out forehand on a slice.

The wheels are coming off?

Nicely done, Stan. Gotta get up at 4:20am so get the job done. Will miss the rest unfortunately.
