Congrats to Roger. This is his 4th generation of rivals, and I think he enjoys playing the youngsters.

Likewise missed the whole match 'cos my mother in law is staying with us till Sunday and my mum also came for dinner at an inopportune time so I missed the match but would love to see some of it. It gets better. My missus booked a short weekend break for us to Faro in Portugal for June 7th-10th. I said niceone and then realized wtf?! That's when the men's semis, women's final and men's final at RG will be on. When I told her she suggested maybe she'll go on her own 'cos she won't be happy with me watching all those matches and staying indoors.

That's all I could find for now, but considering the match just ended an hour or so ago, I'm surprised I found anything.

Front...are you mad? Go to Portugal! Whatever is going to happen will happen, whether you watch it or not. On the men's side, Rafa's going to win it, so there's that sorted. ;) You can watch the highlights of the women's on your dvr, when you get home. (And you can follow the scores on your phone when you slip off to the men's room from your lovely beach.)

Cool. Thanks tented. Hopefully more will be online soon. Very fast paced match as expected. Good win for Federer. Can't be easy playing a guy like Janowicz with a huge serve and extremely good movement for a big guy. Nice and respectful too at the end there.

So true, Moxie  Yeah I definitely still want to go but she suggested going on her own. Haha, maybe she wants to take off her wedding ring and go chasing some local hunks. Only married since last November :)

Dude! You're practically on your honeymoon. Don't start taking her for granted and making her a tennis-widow now. Recipe for disaster. Boa viagem!

Jerzy has a significantly larger upside than Berdych or Soderling. He moves like a younger Safin, which is just huge for a big man.

Unfortunately he doesn't have all a big man's tools yet. His serve is good, but not that good. It could be better. His forehand is good, but not that good. It could be better.

He has a lot of attributes that he'll grow into, and I expect that he'll be top 10 relatively soon (once he irons out the point construction issues)

He has a lot of intangibles, which make him an intriguing player. We'll see.

Just saw the entire replay of this match. Fed looks sharp, amazing half volleys. And served well. Hope he gets to final and plays Rafa to test where his level is at (we know how Fedal matches go anyway). Unless you play the rest of the big 4 (and now Berdych??? :D ), you never know what level you are playing at.

I do think it is only a matter of time before JJ becomes a major force on tour. Right now he is just very raw. JJ not only has power he has a lot of variety and that might be part of the problem as it leads to poor shot selection at times. But with that power, movement and surprising all around game he is likely a future top 5 player.

You could be right, but I don't think his head would allow it.

He'll mature. IPeople forget how little experience he still has at this level, because he just started to play the main tour late last fall. In comparison to it's peers, Dimitrov, Tomic, Raonic, he's got just a fraction of match played and he already looks lie he got better results in main events, lie masters (2 of them by now). Tomic's grass run at Wimby looks lie fluke at this point, until he backs it up, somewhere.
I think with the type of game he has, he could be very dangerous at Wimbledon, where he showed yo on the radar screen , while raned only in the mid 100s, made the R3.
He reminds me of ivanisevic. Big serve and rushing in to put it away. He has the sills to do that type of play.
And I agree with Darthfed. Top 10 is a given, for me, top 5 is a strong possibility in a few years. And I must say, i refreshing to see someone not starting to grind it out from the baseline. We have way too many of those today

And here is the explanation for the poor performance from Delpo:
In short, respiratory problems:

OK, I guess I have been dismissing him too quickly. But it's mostly a reaction to how many times over the past few years we've heard comments about various players like, "He's going to be the No. 1 player next year," "He can win two ... three ... possibly four or five Majors," "By the end of the year, he'll be safely within the Top 5," etc. Only for it to amount to nothing in this era of the current top guys.
