She was up 4-0 before she gave all the games back. Served for the match at 6-5 and had 30-0. I say all of that to say that Daria ended up winning it in a final set TB. Total time of the match was 3hrs 8min. This winner will play Sharapova tomorrow

Should be a great match between Gavrilova and Sharapova. Maria's on fire this tournament. Her 2-and-a-half hour match against Cibulkova was a treat to watch. Sharapova had to work really hard but she seems physically stronger than for a long time.

Cibby loses (yet) another close one. She's got issues when it goes to the wire.

Sharapova is looking strong... a dark horse for Roland Garros?

Pliskova went ballistic - smashing the umpires chair.

Bad call though - the ball was miles in.

She looks like the young, female version of McEnroe then except he just threw his racket about & shouted "You cannot be serious, that wasn't out, it was in". If she does it more often, she might get more people wanting to view her matches for the entertainment aspect though there is no need for that behaviour or attitude as it sets a bad example to others.

Not really. Too many young guns that could beat her in a 3rd set, not to mention the dirt ballers that can give her trouble. She might make it to R16, but that would depend on how friendly her draw is.

They need Hawk Eye on dirt. So unfair what happened to Pliskova. I don’t blame her for being furious. I assume no Hawk Eye because of the expense and marks on dirt will show how inaccurate the technology is??

No. They say that it's because of the color/nature of dirt that the margin of error is greater on clay and outside of the accepted MOE that they needed to get to for Hawkeye to work on grass and HC. But someone suggested that they use Hawkeye on clay to show the mark, since a lot of disputed calls recently and last year have been about losing the mark or finding the wrong one. Then the chair can call it in or out, but it would be the right mark. The Plishkova case was really bad, though. The lines person couldn't find the mark, the chair didn't even try and didn't play a let, as I understand it. That was just bad, and so late in the match.

The screamer is going to make the final. Halep can’t stop her.
