Well Calvy because of the top 3 Serena is the more likely to go on holiday. I trust Maria and Vika's ability to be consistent far more than Serena's ability. Serena is someone who can win three straight tournaments and then lose 3 straight tournaments. Granted it hasn't happened in a while, but she is more prone to it than they are.

Well, if she hasn't done it in such a long time, then she isn't the most likely anymore, especially considering she, and not the other two has won the most event within the last 13 months.

This why she is number 1 in the world, because of her consistency, no?

The old Serena just didn't care half the time.

Maybe you should, and just like this poll, you'll be the only one voting for Vika, or should I say, against Serena.
Unless I see Serena beat Vika in a H2H 40 yard dash, I am sticking to my opinion.
:)

The way I look at it, there is just too many die hard Serena fans, the results will not be meaningful.

Well, you suggested a poll, not I.

... and Sara is a good clay courter, so she'd know the feel and have the mind of a clay courter.

That's exactly what I was implying, Sara and Samantha both tried the drop shot on Vika but Vika was fast enough to neutralize most of it.
It did work for a while for Samantha on that second set bagel she gave Vika but not afterwards.

OK, you all think Serena is faster or equal, I think Vika.
May be I should start a poll on that?
You don't need a poll for that, you just need two eyes. There are players faster than Serena. Aga,Woz to name a couple, but vika no. Vika has great anticipation and can often start moving before the ball is hit. That isn't the same as foot speed.

Yes I do Calvy, time and time again Sara dropped the ball on her and we saw what happened.
Vika is younger, faster and lighter.

Serena needs to get that first serve percentage up if she doesn't want to make life difficult today!

Serena takes the first set 6-1. Vika hasn't held serve yet and Serena is winning this match on 2nd serves as her 1st serve % is pretty bad right now.

Serena just let Vika back into this set by not holding serve!

Now hold your serve!

Congrats to Serena for winning Rome! Now take it a match at a time and win the biggest red clay event of them all in a week.

The serve worked real good in the last game. Vika could not challenge it.

Serena wins the match 6-1 6-3. Congrats to her. Vika made it a little competitive, but Serena was a wall of defense today.

Kiu, so much for Vika being faster. Serena was running down all Vika's shots and returning them w/ interest on her worst surface.

LOL. Serena's Italian is much better than her Spanish. I wonder if we'll see her French in 3 weeks time?

Well no time to get cocky! Take it a match at a time at RG! I am going to take her low first serve percentage to wind and fatigue. She has played a lot of tennis the past 2 and 1/2 weeks. Rest up and bring your A game to RG! Say no to doubles at RG Serena!

Actually, when she tends to play doubles in a slam, she typically wins that slam.

Yeah but she has been playing a lot of tennis for the past 2 months 4 straight tournament wins and a real shot at RG this year and defending Wimbledon soon I feel she should sit this one out and pick up doubles again at Wimbledon.

She's in finer shape than she has EVER been, and the fact she typically take off in the fall helps her recovery. After Wimbledon there is no Olympics, and she can rest for a good 3 weeks.

She is actually playing a clay court tournament after Wimbledon so she has to make an appearance as I am sure she received a hefty appearance fee.

Congrats to Serena for a superb match and win of her 53rd title (I think)
