"His mother, Dijana, spoke to the LTA in April during the Davis Cup tie between Serbia & Montenegro and Britain and the talks have continued ever since." That's the quote. And the article nowhere says that the family denied it, nor has anything I've read. Chris Bowers also talks about it in his book about Djokovic. Certainly it was not about it being "nice" for Murray and Djokovic to play DC together...it was about drawing a talented player to Britain. Which had the more established tennis infrastructure and money compared to Serbia.

Watching the future of tennis, Thiem v. Zverev. The future is looking pretty bright. I do hope the Zebra shirt design is buried under the clay of Roland Garros.

Thiem takes the third 6/3. Experience should tell here on in. Zverev began to run out of gas last time they played and this being a five setter, Dominic should probably wrap this up in four.

It looks like 2 zebras hugged it out at the net! Good chance for Thiem to make the SF now, he will have Granola and then probably Tsonga in the QF.

No1e is next playing someone called Aljaz Bedene or something, who must have his brains amputated because he is a Slovenian who wanted to play for Britain. Slovenija is about million times prettier country with better climate conditions and with billion times prettier women than England.Does anyone remember that Da Ali G's show episode when Da Ali G inspect passengers at Heathrow and those young women coming from Slovenia he lets in, while all the others he sidelines for deportation?

Pretty obvious Bedene is/was after a better financial package. I doubt pretty chicks are at the top of his list when considering career options and he'd have plenty of options in the UK anyway as a pro tennis player... or maybe he's an just an Ali G (a brit) fan. Isla Fisher was spawned by Brits.

Djoker blazed through his match and got it done before the light gave out.

It is going to be a Andy vs Djokovic final.

I will cheer for the underdog.

I have Andy in 4.

Bold prediction. Wawrinka is showing better form here. If they meet up in the semis, Andy will be hard pressed to keep from getting hit off the court.

If Wawrinka keeps playing like he did in the last two rounds, he blows Murray off the court in easy three.

Well if they said it, then it must be true.;-):

I know what Djokovic family said about that topic on more than one occasion. Anyway nobody here took any part of the negotiations so we don't know what really happened. What we know is that somebody declined somebody's offer seeing what transpired after the negotiations. And since Britain had the more established tennis infrastructure and money compared to Serbia, my bet is that Djokovic family turned the offer down and decided to go on their own and roll the dice. Also that happened years ago so what is the reason of bringing the subject again, I have no idea. Parents are supposed to seek the best possible circumstances for their children, aren't they?

Chis Bowers never talked with any members of Djokovic family about that book (which I read) so his opinions are just that, his opinions.

As for Bedene, the guy played as well as he could, I think, in today's match, and he obviously benefitted from joining GB team. Today's result is misleading, imo, as some of the games were close and he did push Nole to play some of his best tennis so far in the tournament. To scold a grown man for choosing where he wants to work and live it's just silly, especially the reasons given by Mastoor. :yesyes:

I thought pretty girls were the number 1 reason for guys moving to other countries. :lulz2:

I know, I had to add the other "reasons" to underline how he was after money.

I love huggers:yahoo:

Since Tsonga retired, I think this is an excellent chance for Thiem to make it to the semi final.

Why would you think that when someone else tells opposite to Novak or his parents or his fans it is always someone else to tell the truth, not ever Novak or those related to him like his parents or his fans?

1. in 2005 Novak earned US$200,000 and in the first half of 2006 before this interview he earned around US$250,000
2. He already had contracts with Wilson and Adidas
3. There are interviews in which he says that once he started earning money (2005) he never considered playing for another country
