I feel dirty typing this but you can't sleep on Raonic in this tournament. He is flying under the radar and with the inconsistency of Stan he would definitely have a solid chance if that's the QF. It'd be a rematch of the 5-setter Raonic won in Oz this year.
Agreed, Raonic is dangerous to anybody outside the top 3 here... but once you hit the top 3 he becomes cannon fodder.

The Baghs has had a few hundred too many gyros in his career. On top of not being in the best shape it's also about him not having the same ambition as the top players. He enjoys being out there and has made plenty of money. I was at the USO a few years back and saw his first two matches. His level was phenomenal and he absolutely crushed Kevin Anderson but went down lamely to Stan in the 3rd round. Aside from 2006 he can't really string together more than a couple good matches.

I'd give him a shot vs. Murray. He certainly had his chances in the semi this year in Australia and has beaten him a couple other times. But I would favor Murray over anyone but Nole, Rafa, and a blazing Stanimal.

You're probably right. Roanic doesn't have an appealing game, but he's very solid and ambitious. If only you could put his head on certain other players.... (OK, without the hair.)

He's living the life and enjoying it. Seems to get as much as he wants out of it. Rather like Nalbandian, though with even less ambition.

I wouldn't write off Nishikori. He might be more dangerous for Andy than Stan at the moment. He can play. I just worry about him if he comes up against Novak. Funnily enough I give him better chances against Rafa

^ Nishikori matches up well with Nadal. The H2H is a lot to do with the difference in mentality and big points. But if Nadal makes the final I think he beats anyone on that side. If Nole makes it, and he should if he doesn't get tight, he "could" definitely lose to Murray, Stan, or even Nishi.

^Yes I can endorse that view. Say want you want about Rafa, it's not going to be any mental shortcomings that let him down. That said... a hot Nishikori or Stan can take the game away from even him.

Gasquet always seems to cause Kyrgios problems. Up 5-2 in the 1st set.

Match ups always so important in tennis. Hard to understand what Gasquet does to him though

I saw them play in the 1st round of Cincy last year, right after Kyrgios clowned Stan. Obviously Nick didn't get the warmest welcome and his head was never really in the match. So I can't really go off that much.

Turdasco sauce is suddenly giving Kinky Kei some issues. That's a surprising turnaround

Nishi-Verdasco match is getting very interesting and now Kyrgios left shoulder is better? :scratch:hope yes because I have him in my bracket though I see Gasquet playing pretty well
