The Frenchmen have been hanging tough. Can Mahut score the upset of the recently unreliable Tipsarevic? I like Paire's chances over Baghdatis.

We might look at Wawrinka's form over the once-promising Thiemo De Bakker. And I think Youzhny v. Andujar could be a fight.

It will be interesting to see how Goffin will do against Djokovic. Last year he made it to the last 16 where he gave Roger a hard time. If he goes out in the first round this time his ranking will really take a nosedive. That puts on the one hand a lot of pressure on him, but on the other hand it's one of those "nothing to lose matches" for him because it's against Novak.

Baghdatis is in a terrible form recently but should he play his more usual game his match with Paire is with huge potential.

Dimitrov vs Falla the same thing if Falla is capable of playing his best.

Other than that and if you are not a No1e fan so you want to see him mincing Goffin in under 28 minutes, probably nothing much on men side.

The nosedive Goffin is facing will reflect his true poor record this year 7-14. while he was 19-16 before in his career.

It seems like the field is getting closer to the Big 4. Brands testing Nadal, Dimitrov taking sets off Nadal and Djokovic, Djokovic in a battle with Goffin. Federer losing quite a lot this year.

I've taped the Nole-Goffin match - I was following the scoreline, seriously tight...thought I saw a few breaks on both sides.

It's not been a ho-hum first few days...hard to be back at work after 2 great days watching from the couch!

For me, as of now, he won't be more than an Oli Rochus, who's stature has inherited.

Special mention for Guido Pella (just turned 23y, 10 days ago), who I think will continue the tradition of good clay argentinian players. He defeated Dodig in 5 sets (12-10 in the 5th), scoring his first GS win, following his breakthrough event last week.
He broke last year in July in top 200, now he is surging in the top 100.
He will get some good exposure, as he is Nole's next opponent.

I'm not actually sure what you mean by "stature was inherited." I think Olivier had the better career over Christophe. And Olivier has made quite a career for himself, by being crafty. I think Goffin is in that mold. However, he should work on his ROS and defensive skills, since his serve is unlikely to be a weapon. But he has many natural gifts.

stature = height.
I don't say he is not crafty, but his achievemts ill be limited by shis size. If he'll do as well as Rochus, that would be remarkable, but I do not see him as a future threat to a top 20.

Oli had quite a creer, just making a paralell in terms of both being belgian and similar in height. Not every player will be able to climb the ladder to the very top, we know that. Oli made the most of it.

It's been months at least, since i scaled down my expectations of Dolgopolov, I think he'll be an underachiever. He needs more than just talent.
Good for Sock indeed, Gilbert said he thinks of the USA youngsters he's got the most upside potential.
Bernie Tomic had a right hamstring injury, was treated right after 3 games in the first set, he played limping then retired in 3rd set.

(OK, though Rochus is, but think what he's done with it!) What they lack in size, they have to make up in guile, game and fitness. I think Goffin has enough game to match them, if he has the commitment.
