Stosur as always bows down to pova...if she was playing Serena she would be playing lights out tennis...same with Muguruza.
pova looks beatable..

You and I know these players always bring their best against Serena. Vika does the same thing too and when she's across the net from Pova she folds like a cheap suit. Just watch and see how she will be going after Serena tomorrow.

I never understood the "folds against Serena and no one else argument". No one ever makes that point against Nole (or Roger or Rafa), so it would seem to me incredibly sexist to suggest that women players can't mentally play their best game against the top players not named Serena Williams.

There's nothing sexist about that statement it is what it is. They take their game to Serena and fold against Maria. If you've never notice that then I can't say anymore.

It's hard to believe that Stosur is a veteran who actually won a major. Her decision making process and point construction leave much to be desired at times.

Stosur has beaten Maria twice. She's beaten Serena 3 times. And she has lost to both of them a boatload of times. Not a whole lot of difference imo.

And like I said, no one makes that argument about the men. No one says oh, they play their best against Rafa, but fold against Novak, or Roger. At least not that I've ever seen. So yes, it does appear sexist, because you are saying only women do it.

^Am I the only one who is reminded of Conchita Martinez's style when watching CSN?

But it has taken CSN 7 years to win as many matches at Wimbledon as Conchita won in 1994. :)

And Flavia gets to the 4th R of the French for the 3rd time in her career. She's play Muguruza for a spot in the Qs.

I can't stand Flavia Pennetta. She's one of those players with 0 consistency who just becomes this spoiler. She lurks in the draw because she's usually seeded somewhere in the 20s and a top 10 seed has to face her. She's always dangerous but usually only has 1 or 2 good results every year. It just annoys me. Be consistent.

Its hard to root for players like Stosur. I felt the same way about Li Na. How can you root for a player you know is only going to be consistent for 1 or 2 tournaments a year?

Stosur is such a mental midget, I can't believe she won USO. Today was her chance. The wind was blowing Pova's toss around and making it tough to hit targets which always gets Pova unsettled. I expected two routine sets, and that is what we got.

Surprising to see Carla lose to Pennetta. There is nobody who can realistically prevent the Screaming Giant from getting to the final. The question is who makes the final from the other half.

pova has lost to Pennetta the last three times they played and Pennetta doesnt care that much about pova....this could be the end of the road for the russian...if the organisers dont mess up Flavia.

Pova's losses to Pennetta were on what surface? I would bet HC.
