Kerber v Lepchenko...this could be a deceptively tricky match for Kerber.Lepchenko leads their h2h 4-1
Kerber's results during the clay court season have been shaky, lost early in Stuttgart, back injury forced her to retire in Madrid, lost in Rome in her 2nd rd match, lost in q/finals to Karolina Pliskova in Nurnberg.
Lepencho can be terribly erratic, though during the last month, she proved to me what a good player she can be.I will go for the upset in this match....Lepchenko in 3 sets.

Isn't Muguruza a pretty good clay player. She might make it interesting for Serena. The Aga vs. Pliskova match might also be interesting.

Interesting matches for me:

Maria Sharapova (RUS) (7) vs. Tsvetana Pironkova (BUL)

Serena Williams (USA) (1) vs. Garbine Muguruza (ESP)

Agnieszka Radwanska (POL) (3) vs. Karolina Pliskova (CZE)

Sabine Lisicki (GER) (16) vs. Mona Barthel (GER)

Eugenie Bouchard (CAN) (18) vs. Julia Goerges (GER)

She is. But she's entirely too streaky to beat Serena. I'll give her 6 games max.

Venus looks very good. Up a set and a break 6-2 2-1. Not too many FH errors today. Boy is it chilly out there. All the ladies wearing long sleeves.

EDIT: Spoke too soon. Venus drops the 2nd set 6-3. Heading to the decider.

After dropping the 1st set to Georges, Genie levels the match. Heading to the decider.

Yikes! Serena is a mess out there!

What's going on? Please tell me you don't think she'll lose.

(I can see the score online, but not the match. Thanks!)

Strangely enough something told me to wake up at 5 am PST and turn the TV on. Interesting how Serena brings out either the players who play out of their minds or the crumblers.

Just switched onto it (was watching Djoker but this might be more interesting)!

Serena down 2-6 0-2 and face three break points.

Serena's mother's eyes were closed during that last point...not good. Anyone watch the 1st set?

Broken again. Mugaruza a set and 3-0 up. Didn't see the first set but from the little I've seen in this set , the spaniard is seeing the ball like a water melon, keeping it deep and making Serena play one more shot. Serena has made quite a few UFEs.

Well this seems insurmountable now 2-6, 0-3 down in the 2nd. Looks like Serena might not be defending thus year :(
