My prediction for winner of RG is gone down the drain in the form of Simona. But, Lucic really took her to woodshed. Time for Simona to get to the gym and add some power to her game.

I just do not know why some of you all think she was going to win this tournament. She is not grand slam material neither is Genie.

Well honestly, she had her chance last year. She was at the doorway and couldn't push through. That's as close as she was going to get. Her play since then has been less than stellar. I knew she would have a hard time even defending those points as she's been erratic all season.

I kind of think for a player like Halep or woz or jankovic or Safina if you don't push through that doorway when your have your first chance it's only going to be harder with more pressure to get back there. That first time they usually make it there isn't time to stop and think about the pressure and expectations. Of course there's exceptions like Ivanovic and stosur.

Agreed. The one difference I would note w/ Ana & Sam is that they both failed on their first try, but both got a 2nd try relatively quickly and then they pushed through.

The thing of note also is they have both relatively fallen apart after their slam wins and have had flashes of brilliance here and there.

Disappointed with Halep. Power trumps speed even on clay. As I said, Halep can't win the title this year.

Sad to see Daria retire.

Stosur is playing well. Too bad she drew Pova, her Kryptonite. The heavy spin puts the ball right into Pova's strike zone. The BH to BH rallies and mental game also favor Pova. It would take a near miracle for Stosur to advance.

Well if Stosur keeps the ball out of the center and draws Pova wide, then she should do well. The only person who can dictate against Maria from the center is Serena.

RE: Roland Garros - Day 5, Thursday May 28 - Order of Play

Let's see if Petra makes her life more difficult tomorrow. I am pretty sure Serena is good. Maybe she will relax once in the third round as it will be an improvement from last year. Vika has a tricky second rounder if I am not mistaken she went three sets in either Madrid or Rome with her second rounder.

Hope Garbiñe keeps playing so well, she has everything to be one of the best but she needs to be more consistent
