Not a surprise Hoergren. It really is shocking that Kerber played in 3 slam finals last year. That player is nowhere to be found. This is worse than the Novak slide. She hasn't done anything since becoming #1. Got to the finals of a 250 tournament that she couldn't find a way to win against a 14th ranked player (Pavly).

Kerber lost in first round last year too - don't think she likes clay :)

No she doesn't like the clay, but it doesn't excuse her other losses on her HC (her fave surface)

I stayed up until 4 AM to watch Petra play her first match. Couldn't be happier to see such great tennis from her.

I have Mladenovic winning the title. I predict Halep's ankle won't hold up.

Great to see Petra back.

It was really hard not to shed a tear with her over that win. She looked good, too! Apparently she can't even yet make a proper fist on her playing hand, with no feeling in one of her fingers. She was very smart to get all of this hoopla and emotion out of the way ahead of the grass season. However long this run lasts, good for her.

I didn't even know she was in the draw until the day of it. Good she's back in the fray. Not many expectations of her, other than to slowly pull herself back into the mix.

Franny had a good showing as a former champ on her goodbye tour. Mugu comes through in straights. Next up for her is Kontaveit. Caro is pushed to a 3rd set by a spirited Aus youngster, but prevails in the decider.

She did...good memory. I looked it up...it was on a Tuesday, so the point about failing to make the first Monday is a technicality. I didn't even hear it mentioned on tv, though, the Williams loss.

Speaking of messing up people's draws: Mladenovic is flirting with going out first round, and I picked her to win. Allez Kiki!
