the crowd in Montreal is feeling Pospisil more than the perennially boring Raonic...

Agreed. Pospisil involves the crowd in his matches, that was the case in each and every match.

They both were very tight in the end, understandably. Vasek more than Milos.

That's a shame. I really hoping Pospisil would win.

He had a great week, so he has a lot to be proud of, even though I'm sure he's feeling awful right now.

More class from Milos. I wonder what he can do next?

Let's not get overboard. Bathroom breaks are used by many players between sets, including Roger.

It was like 7 or 8 minutes! Pretty ridiculous. I think has to re-earn the benefit of the doubt.

Wonder if Pospisil will be able to build on this and continue to climb the rankings. It was good to see our fair-minded neighbors to the north rather solidly in his corner during the match.

Then there was the incident shortly before the tiebreak. Pospisil hit a shot that landed on the line. Raonic swung at it and raised his hand as his ball was smacking into the net. Even Gilbert was yelling he had not right to challenge the call after returning it.

I'm not feeling the love for Raonic these days, but to be fair it's up to the umpire to do something about this, just as was the case the other day during the 11 minute MTO.

Do you measure every time someone goes to the bathroom break how long they stay? :D

I think he will. The commentators are now doing the summary and they say generally, he had played better in this match than Milos.
They took an interview with him before he left the court and he held his composure very well, although you could see how upset, teary he was.
Regarding his improvement, some is due to him losing weight (12 pounds) as he has changed his diet cutting back on caffeine and sugar. This break out seems it came out of nowhere, but it is fundamental.
Arias also said he knew he will develop, and he was surprised it didn't come earlier. It was mentioned several times that he was a better junior than Milos early on in their career. He is now catching up on him.

Only my own ;). The commentators were talking about it, and complaining on ESPN. Saying they should implement a limit.

The next time we see a person win a set 6-1 and take a bathroom break will be the first time we see it. It is something that is easy to abuse and a lot of players have done it. Much like the MTO there is nothing the chair ump can do. It's not like he can say "Milos do you really have to go to the can or do you just want to bust Vasek's momentum after that 6-1 beatdown?"

Roger did it once to Davydenko in Australia after a 30 minute 6-2 first set loss and I called it for what it was, an obvious attempt to break momentum.

Again, great day for Canadian Tennis. I saw Vasek play in Vancouver at the Odlum Brown Open, was superb and he continued that trend all week in Montreal. He has the right attitude for sure. This also augers well for Canada in the semi-finals of the Fed Cup when we play Serbia in September against Novak and company. And yes glad Milos gets into the top ten. Still needs to improve his backhand work, but he showed some emotion, in his match a rare sight indeed.
