Rafa's seed is set for the USO and barring anything crazy he will almost certainly finish the year ranked at least #2. This is bigger for Nole to keep a stranglehold on the #1 rank and stop the bleeding against Nadal. Nole hasn't come close to winning anything since Monte Carlo too it should be said.

Reaching the semifinal of Roland Garros and losing 9-7 in the 5th, and then getting to the Wimbledon final, is not "coming close to winning anything since Monte Carlo?"

Lol.:)

Toni never goes to Canada or Cincinnati, so Rafa is used to that.

Did you see the shot they took of Rafa practicing? He was was taking wicked whips with his forehand. It
was something to behold. I bet he'd love nothing better than to stop Nole from having a chance at a 3-peat in Canada. Looks determined.

I did not see that, but he can be as determined as he wants, but short of an injury or complete meltdown, he's not beating Novak today. I'll be shocked if Rafa wins.

I dont think it is ultimately, but it takes rafa longer to make the switch, where Novak is immediately comfortable on hards

Britbox, Im picking Nole. Barring incredible play from Rafa it comes down to Noles level on hard courts
