Has anyone seen Novak hit a down the line backhand this match? One that went in? It's like he is refusing to go there tonight. :nono

He played CC BH all night long to Ernie's BH, so right into his strength. He did not try to open the court like he usually does. That is why I thought he did not care about this match.

Just to let you guys know, Gulbis goes from here to play a challenger in Vancouver. That is logical, because he does not have a direct entry to Cincinnati and he went too deep here to go now to play qualies starting tomorrow

I like Ernie and want him to do well. If he were playing anyone other than Nole, I would be cheering for him.

About to begin now JLLB. Rain in Montreal has delayed the matches today.

I was watching it on old fashioned TV and so did not chirp much. I was hoping that at least this Masters can be won by someone else, when Ernie had an MP on his own serve. Novak ran away with the third as usual.

Jimmy Arias makes a good observation, beside taking the ball early he now can also rip it.
