And what does this remark have to do with mine? I don't get your point! Some of these players have beat Serena before...
Does that make Sorana's accomplishment here any lesser than making the final? She did beat a bunch of top 10s during the 5 matches she won. Sorana gets Kudos from me for sure and that's not because I like her and she is the top Romanian. It's because of what she did this week.
I disagree with this as well, some of these ladies have beaten Serena multiple times, like Jelena. The point is, none of those opponents is the quality of Serena and never have been,
Kiu said:I disagree with you, Li would have beaten Aggie had she faced her here, Aggie was not that sharp late in the tourny.
It's obvious that none of them are as good as Serena, Serena is #1
What does that have to do with the fact that Sorana had a tougher draw than Serena?

I still don't get it. Neither do you! Get it?

We are not allowed to criticize folks because of their votes until after the match!
It is a fact that Sorana has defeated more quality opponents(aside from Aggie who is struggling in my book) than Serena did, just look at the respective draws:

Sorana has played one more match as well, she has defeated 5 compared to Serena's four.
But never the less, this is Sorana's first final and Serena has won this twice before.
Serena in 2 straight sets is my pick, something along the lines of 6-2 6-3
None of those player's she beat IS number 1 in the world!

Tell me, when was the last time any of those player beat Serena?
Hmmm, Jelena hasn't beaten since 2010, Caroline, April 2012 and Li, 2009 or 08. And if Aggie is 'struggling' as you like to write, then what are those players going through.
And I'm not surprised you don't comprehend, seems confusion is quite prevalent on the boards today.
Kiu said:Horrible first set stats for both, Serena played much better in the second set.
Here is the Champ, she has #54 in the bag!

You said they were never as good as Serena, isn't it true that back in the 2000s Jelena was better than Serena? Jelena was #1 when Serena wasn't, right?
You must be confused if you forgot what you said, I highlighted it for you so you remember.

" isn't it true that back in the 2000s Jelena was better than Serena"
So, Jelena was better than Serena from 2000-2010?
Jelena was never better than Serena. As for the her being number 1, remember, you lost to Serena in the final of the one slam she got that far, the same year she finished number 1. Jelena finished number 1 because she played over 20 events that year.
Heck, by your definition, both Caroline and Dinara were better than Serena at some point.

I didn't expect any more than above from a clear Serena fan, it's obvious when JJ was #1 and Serena was not, JJ was better, at least the rankings said so but not Serena fans...
JJ was never as good right?
It's not my definition Calvy, it is the ranking that said so!
BTW, I said back in the 2000s, I didn't say the whole decade, did I?
I am done with this conversation. You all can have the last word.
