We come to the finals and it's Serena the supreme versus Sorana the slayer!

H2H is 2-0 in favor of Serena, both straight set victories, last in FO this year.

I know who wins but what do you think?!

Serena looks a little wobbly against Aga, but with her brute strength still made it to the final. Would like to see Sorana win but the odds are not in her favour. Very happy she has made it to the final of the Rogers Cup, will build her confidence up for the rest of the year, I hope.

"Brute strength" alone did not win Serena that match. She mixed it up very well (both players did, although that is always the case for Aga because she has little "brute strength").

Serena in two sets. Cirstea is no Aga.

Exactly! She doesn't have Aga's speed, variety or intelligence.!

Thank you colleen66, I was just about to correct that poster.

it looks like a 1st round match..;)

It looks like a first round match but you voted for Cirstea in 3 sets? Are you implying the #1 seed wouldn't win a first round match?

Now, now!
We are not allowed to criticize folks because of their votes until after the match!
:)

It is a fact that Sorana has defeated more quality opponents(aside from Aggie who is struggling in my book) than Serena did, just look at the respective draws:

Sorana has played one more match as well, she has defeated 5 compared to Serena's four.

But never the less, this is Sorana's first final and Serena has won this twice before.
Serena in 2 straight sets is my pick, something along the lines of 6-2 6-3

You're funny. One first round loss in a major equals fondness in your dictionary.

"Fond?"

Not very smart as you? Only one first round lost in over 40 slam, what a horrible stat....

Congrats to Serena on her 8th title of the year and 54th title overall (someone will correct me if I'm wrong). A 6-2 6-0 bludgeoning and she wasn't even in top form.

Horrible first set stats for both, Serena played much better in the second set.

Here is the Champ, she has #54 in the bag!
