Due to rain, the Cilic/Monfils and Cuevas/Elias matches have been postponed until tomorrow. Monfils leads Cilic 6-3, 6-6 (7-7) with Cilic serving. The Cuevas/Elias match never began.

Thiem going for 2 title wins in a row, clearly the second best on clay.

The young Chilean Jarry (ranked 94, age 22) also beat Ramos-Viñolas. I'd never even heard of him. A clay-courter on the rise? Anyone see him play this week?

Verdasco is a funny one, and so is The Fog. I wouldn't have been laying money on either of those matches, pero ¡Vamos, Fernando!

I like Fernando, but usually after a good win, hi homes up lame and loses an easier match.
On another note, Nadal goat just got burned in his faith for Thiem.
Thiem last year lost only to Nadal, Djokovic and Goffin on clay, this is his worse loss on clay in almost 2 years.

He has entered just recently the top 100, thus tlaying mainly the Challenger tour.
He is just 22y old, same generation as Kyrgios and Edmund, so time is on his side.
And a very interesting detail regarding him, of those fans not so young, does anyone remember Jaime Fillol from Chile who played in the 70's? Well, N. Jarry is his grandson.
