Let's say that Metreveli at one point gets to 18 in the official rankings, and in the correct rankings he is 15. Anyone beating Metreveli gets 1p officially, and 2p in the correct version. Those who beat him in the official rankings don't get to the Top 24, but those in the correct version score enough to reach 24. Anyone beating them from now on, also get bonus points in the correct version, unlike the official one. The error propagates every year in the same manner, either be getting bonus points unlike the official version, or not getting bonus points at all unlike the official version, since no rankings will correspond to the official version, until there are no bonus points anymore (which is the year 2000).
And I said "With what I am encountering so far, it is possible that no rankings were correct until the year 2000." meaning that it's not a sure thing such a error propagates because there is volatility involved, and the error may end up cancelling itself.
