^ that is horrible indeed. thanks for the update regarding direct entries - i was almost gonna ask. the monfils case should've got me realizing it anyway (he had asked for a WC before withdrawing the request, even though he's easily ranked high enough by now). i guess it makes sense - you don't need to know the seeds until right before drawing, but people should know a little earlier if they'll be playing or will have to enter qualification.
so at # 105, i don't think BB will have been close enough. too bad. he did beat Rosol, btw: 7-6(2), 7-5.

The direct entries selection has nothing to do ith the seeding, there are made way far apart in time. The direct entries have been already decided for weeks, as of May 28 rankings, and here comes for you the good news, Becker is in, because he was ranked 94. The last accepted direct entry was Alund, ranked 103.
The other 29 spots will go to WC and Qualifiers.

Delpo - Malisse 7-6 in the first set
Vamos!
I saw the Malisse - Del Potro match. Malisse is a great grass court player and should have won. Twice up a break in the last set, yet let DP back in the game.
Malisse is a strange guy, he looks so overweight he could challenge Nalby in a sumo match. Like his game though.
I saw th most of the match as well, minus the first set up to 5 all.
Indeed Malisse could have won easily, as DP was having all kind of troubles, beside the slippery stuff. But,in the end when Mallisse was serving for the match at 5-4 in the 3rd, the champion in DP woke up and he was not going to fold. He had an awful line call against him in that game, a warning when serving the next game and then broke Xavier to zero, , to win the match with a great pass .
there is a reason why Malisse has underachieved, he couldn't bring home a match in which he had most of the time the upperhand.
