@Fashionista I haven't heard that. I'm sure it would be a good move on her part. She needs to start planning like a top 10 player.

If Sloane has any hopes of keeping her ranking at least near the top 10 she should make a goal of finishing the year top 8 and getting a number 8 seeding in Australia. With SF points to defend there she could be in for a big ranking drop there.

She should first make a goal of trying to win a tournament....any tournament.

I am so curious which player will get Hogstedt. He can help elevate anyone's game, but probably can make the most difference with a power player who struggles with inconsistency. Petra comes readily to mind. Sloane has the weapons, but I question whether she has the mental toughness to go very far.

Pova should rest. Playing YEC is foolish. She tried this same thing coming back from foot injury two years ago and wound up with bad results. She should resign herself to clawing back to top four before AO.

Not a damn thing is the matter with pova's shoulder. Like I said all of of this is because she made an ass of herself with that name changing thing and Jimmy Conners debacale....by the time she comes back all of that would be swept under the rung and know one would be questioning her about it. If you all believe she had a shoulder injury I can sell you the Brooklyn Bridge.

On the WTF board they were talking about Sloane hiring the Hogman

It might be a good move for her. I'm sure he could help her get

out of playing so defensive at times and get more aggressive.

Well I heard rumours about 1 month ago regarding Sloane might hire Hogstead?
They have surfaced again.I just asked the question here on this blog if anyone else had any more information or could confirm.Thanks.
does he work with black players..justdont see him as a coach who would take orders from Scone or Sybil Smith..:nono:snigger

My worry with male coaches is that they take orders from women, at all. I don't see why more women don't look for female coaches.

Is Maria Sharapova playing in the YEC?

She obviously would want to for ranking points reasons. But not having had any match play means she won't do much damage.

Wasn't the funeral today. You know, the one or Pova's dead career. Empress of the stiff body. I heard that Serena is so bored beating her down that she has passed the torch to Vika. Now Vika owns her

Vika doesn't own Sharapova. In fact, their last two matches went Maria's way. That match up is far closer.

Also, I thought the reason why Sharapova parted ways with Hogstedt was because he wasn't going to be able to travel with her on a consistent basis. At least, that is what Sharapova said. So if that is the case, he wouldn't be a smart coaching choice for Sloane if he isn't available to coach her full-time.

If he does coach Sloane and travels with her during the season, that tells us that the story Maria spun was just that, a story.

Stephens has 0 to defend for the rest of the season, she didn't play last year. Good results between now and the end of the season and she will finish top 8/top 10.
