Upsets continue. After Monfils, Cilic now it was Gilles Simon who was defeated surprisingly by Dustin brown

Semi Finals in Montpellier

montpellier-2015-saturday-gasquet.jpg

Richard Gasquet v Dustin Brown

Paul-Henri Matthieu v Alexander Zverev

I always enjoy watching Dustin - a great entertainer. This may be a step too far but I'm hoping he pulls of the W against Gasquet.

Also, worth watching Alexander Zverev... we're tracking the big German in the Favourite Juniors thread. He's played well this week and also accounted for the scalp of Marin Cilic. This kid is showing game.

Alexander Zverev... Good tournament for the youngster. Accounting for former US Open champion Marin Cilic's departure.

The youngster Zverev is in the semi finals. Way to go, kid.:good:

Also Richie, Dustin, PH Mathieu join him.

So semis look like this: PHM vs Zverev and Richie vs Dustin. :yahoo:

Ha BB, you beat me to it. Dustin is very entertaining. I like Richie, so I'll be happy for either man.

It looks like Zverev and Dustin could have solid chances at getting through. That would be fun!

Semi-Final Action

Richard Gasquet bt Dustin Brown 1-6 6-4 6-3
Paul-Henri Mathieu bt Alexander Zverev 7-6 7-5

Sets the stage for an all-french final. Brown had a good week coming through from qualifying and the young German Zverev has had a great week - taking some nice scalps. Definitely one to watch going going forward.

I agree, a good week for the Germans, but it should be extra nice for local fans to have 2 Frenchmen in the final. Allez Richie.

And brothers Zverev are in the doubles final.

PHM started really well, up a break in the first set (3:0).

A double fault, a couple of UFEs and a bad net play and we are back on serve: 3:2.

PHM stops the bleeding and wins a game after losing 3 in a row. Both guys had discussion with the ump during that changeover but I couldn't figure out about what.

PHM broke Richie and was serving for that 1st set and then got broken at love. This sport is so mental. So back on serve.

Sweet dreams BB.

I am enjoying it very much, so many ups and downs from both players. Never know what will happen. :)

Richie serves out the first set at love: 7:5. :yahoo:
