While losing today, both Borna Coric and Leonardo Mayer will make new career records, Borna will become top 50 comes Monday.

A great win for Thiem, not easy to beat Isner when he is playing decently, if nothing that serve scares me always.

Some of these lunatics may stand a chance of doing ok in Roland Garros. Why are they playing a day before it starts?!

And who is then supposed to enter these events? Or should they just cancel them altogether?
Look, in a GS there are 124 entrants and the vast majority do not stand a chance to go deep anyway.
They are better of to try tp win a 250 event, because they will not have a ton of occasions during their career.

And what does OK mean to you? R4 earns 180 points, a title here earns them 250. What do you think they would prefer?

I guess you could look at it that way alright. On a day when he serves well though Isner can trouble anyone but he risks injury playing here.

So freaking happy for the kid. I've been talking him up since I first saw him on TV in the match against Murray at Rotterdam last February, it's nice to see him delivering on the potential. He's a Top 10 candidate in the next two years, and I think a lot of people will be remembering his name.

One very positive stat from the match - Dominic was not broken a single time in a brutal 3 setter. Faced 6 break points, saved every one of them. For a young gun in only his second career final to hold his nerve that well is extremely impressive, imo.

Very impressive from Thiem considering he lost a tight 1st set and had to battle hard in the next 2 against a veteran player. Congratulations, 1st title for anybody must feel really special.:clap

:lolz: Tell him herios.:D

These tournaments are best for lower ranked players or young guys trying to make a break out on tour. Most of the top professionals would either not participate or they would not make some big efforts to compete as hard as they otherwise would have. Perfect case scenario for others.
