Tomorrow: Schwartzman v. Verdasco and Fritz v. Marchenko, if you want to see how the young Taylor is playing these days.

Taylor has lost the last two qualifiers to Radanek Stepanek. The worm has his number.
Now, that's just sad. Even the really old-guard is trying to keep the youngsters at bay.

Happy for Taylor Fritz and Donald Young. And I don't know what to make of Verdasco, though Schwartzman is a good player, esp. on clay.

Only raised his head long enough to snuff Rafa at the AO, then goes back to his underachieving usual. Grrrr....

Paire got surprised by Mannarino... alhough I'm not so sure how much these guys are willing to graft with only a few days to go before Roland Garros.

It's a good point. Maybe some guys figure to pick up the odd match, a little money and points, and then prep for RG. That may not explain Verdasco and Fognini going down, but I can see why Anderson would play here. And I suppose Thiem and Zverev are young enough to gain some experience and confidence here, and still have the juice for a Major. Ah, youth.

Thiem bagelling Mayer is impressive. He's a creditable clay player.
