So curious to hear how this will go. Even those of us who thought Novak has been a bit of a drama queen over the Vax issue, never thought there'd be a chapter including a statement from the PM. This is bordering on the surreal.
I dont know what more Scott can say on this matter,I already posted what he said on this post.,regarding his visa being cancelled.

Indeed, and he may just reiterate his position, but the very fact that he feels he needs to speak to his people about it I find fascinating. This whole thing got very big, and beyond tennis. For us tennis fans, that doesn't happen very often.
Well this is a federal decision on border issues,so our Prime Minister can clarify why Novak's visa was cancelled.
I guess it is a first for us tennis fans......stay tuned

He seemed to imply Novak did not have a medical exemption. As in, Novak‘s medical exemption was pulled, therefore he has to leave.

That was the verdict from Border Force Officials who relayed this to Prime Minister,Health Minsiter and our Home Affairs Minister

Margaret warned us for weeks that her government takes this pandemic very serious..

Fast forward to approximately 7:35

Kudos for our govs and ScoMo for not relenting under "celebrity status" pressure and enforcing the same rules for all travelers. Joker apparently messed up his visa application and had applied for a Visa that did not allow for medical exemptions. Such fact (if confirmed and there no reason not to believe it being a fact) should be emphasized: Joker's deportation is his own fault and his celebrity status should have no influence on the outcome. If it had (e.g. if he challenged Australian Border Force in a court and won, or even if he be allowed to stay for more than is needed to enter the return home flight) it would be an injustice to thousands or millions of people trying to enter Aus and who were turned around. Any other person attempting to enter Australia with an incorrect visa would be bundled on the next flight and sent back to their place of origin. Immediately.

IMO Joker would have done better in his situation by not threatening to challenge ABF but rather flight back home (or to any country who can accept him) and apply from there for a different visa that better suit his situation (whatever medical conditions he want to claim, even anti-vax mental blockage); he can also apply to VIC govs/TA for sponsorship as ScoMo mentioned. They apparently already said he could as anti-vaxxer, play AO so such "sponsorship application" (whatever it means) should not be denied. His lawyers may even find some other loopholes in ABF law. It would be OK. There is still time for him to apply for correct visa that allow him to come back legally and play AO. His laywers should work for that rather than a futile contemption of ABP laws, because as a non-resident tourist, he's not above our local law.
Edit: By ABF I mean Australian Border Force. Please disregard the previous acronym "ABP" that I used by mistake.

I don't know what ABP is. But hasn't Victoria government already declined to help him out? He's running out of options, and, just to be clear, I don't think "anti-vax mental blockage" is on the list of medical exemptions. :)

I think ABP stands for Australian Border Patrol, @MargaretMcAleer?

On a serious note: With Djokovic not able to play AO, Medvedev and Zverev have the golden opportunity to become the Number 1 player in the world. All Medvedev and Zverev have to do to become world number 1 is to win the AO title. Just straight forward scenarios for either one of them. Both of them control their destinies. Also, they will be seeded 1 and 2 respectively so...it is on their rackets.
Indeed "less serious" note, although it should be more important AO news than a political "joke" by an excluded player, he, he...
I wouldn't mind Medvedev becoming no1; he earned it by stopping Joker in USO last year, well deserved! And finally we would have a symbolic breakthrough: end of big3 domination. And even more importantly, I wouldn't mind if this was the start of Joker's fall. Joker's off court history is full of disgraceful incidents, especially this last contempt of ABF laws, that his presence and this talk about him is becoming simply sickening.

Also, if Nadal can somehow land on Rublev's quarter and Zverev's half, I will be cautiously happy. On the other hand, if he lands on Medvedev's quarter, yeah...lol
If Novak really IS out of the picture, we can discuss the draw. There will be only one other player who has won a Major. Medvedev. And then there's Rafa. This is another reason I'm watching Meddie right now. Aside from rooting for the Italians, and the eye candy on offer. Can someone please teach Berrettini a net game? He's not going to beat Medvedev from the back of the court.
