Novak is not in the hearing BTW....which is a good thing
I should have gone on to be a lawyer....like my dad, a lot of legal talk going on.

According to what I just read that the judge said:
Judge Kelly says a “matter that has really preoccupied me” is why Tennis Australia's documentation was not accepted by the delegate at the border making the decision on Djokovic’s visa.
"Here, a professor and an eminently qualified physician have produced and provided the applicant a medical exemption," he says.
"Further to that, that medical exemption and the basis on which it was given was separately given by a further independent expert specialist panel established by the Victorian state government and that document was in the hands of the delegate.
"The point I am agitated about is ‘what more could this man have done?’"

--------

He sounds inclined towards Novak, based on this.

He didn't give one to the state's case.

The state is going to have to really present a good case. It still might not matter if they still might send him packing whatever the verdict.

When the judge said, "What more could he (Novak) have done?" It sounds like he's buying the paperwork presented. He's unswayed by the background noise, I'd say. Unless the state can explain that his paperwork doesn't meet the criteria, I think Novak is in.

So would a ruling in Novak’s favor cause an uproar among citizens? I would think they would be furious having someone come into their country who absolutely doesn’t take Covid seriously allowed more freedom than they have had with lockdowns and such.

This is how The Independent sums it up:

"Djokovic’s legal team have concluded their oral submissions.
They have argued that their client should have been and should now be granted entry to Australia for next week’s Australian Open, where the Serbian is the defending champion.
We will later soon hear the counter argument from the legal team representing Australia in these proceedings, who will make the case that the decision made last week to deny the men’s world number one a visa was the correct - and legal - course of action.
It is expected we will get a verdict today, although proceedings are already running longer than originally anticipated."

Judge Kelly seems to agree with the sentiment that the motives of the border officer shouldn't be maligned casually.

"I would be most reluctant to impugn a decision maker" Judge Kelly said.

Could Novak even have a good Australian Open if allowed to play? I can’t imagine anyone enjoying his presence if he is allowed to play. He definitely wouldn’t escape the headlines nor would he probably have an easy go in his pressers.

He has the same taste for the dramatic that Novak does: "Will he? Won't he?"
