I don't believe Nads will ever win this tournament. It seems almost mental now.

The way Nadal played in this tournament on his worst surface is very promising for next year. For sure he will get the slam record. :good:

Not quite the high quality match I was hoping for but probably good for Medvedev that he didn't have to serve it out. Nadal looked a bit nervy and jaded that last game.

Medvedev still undefeated. My money’s on him to win it. Whomever wins, though, I’m fine. I like them both, and will be happy for either.

Well done to Danii, he deserved it.:clap::clap:

I think tomorrow's match will be a great one, and I also think it's invigorating for the sport that there's two younger players in the final, a new champion, and it'll be the US Open champ or the recent winner of Paris indoors.

I like them both but because he won so well tonight, I'm softly rooting for Danii...

Indoor is not a surface. It is an environment that rewards nice ball strikers due to lack of environmental issues.

I too would be happy independent of who wins tomorrow. However, I do think Thiem will win, primarily because he plays more offensive tennis compared to Med.

Incidentally, both Med and Thiem beat #1 and #2 in this tourney. That is a double whammy for the Biggies.

Indoor has a surface, like all courts do, but environmental issues, as you call them are not issues: they're the environment they play in...

You need to accept that Medvedev is a pusher and a counter-puncher. Just because he's tall, he's not all blind winners.
Wouldn't say he's a pusher but he does push at times. I mean he's hardly Monfils or Simon level puke to watch. He has a very good serve and hits some mad passing shots. Monfils is a classic example of a guy who has all the ability to belt winners at will and chooses to be a pusher 99% of the time. Medvedev only plays a few points like this. He was super aggressive, for example, against Schwartzman.

In Bercy, Ralph could not get it done despite none of the other members of big three/four plus Thiem not being in the field. It is too much to expect he can do it here.

That's a lot of statements in one sentence - I think he played better today but he lost two of four matches...

I don't expect fatigue to be an issue for the players tomorrow - or if it is, I'd be very surprised. They had a saunter through the groups and a couple of pitch battles today to raise the pulse, but they should be fine tomorrow. I think it's an evening start?
