Just finished watching Sasha v Novak

Novak served better in this match, quite frankly he had to after his match with Danni, played the big points better than Sasha, who needed to be more aggressive in this match, too passive at times, cant afford to do that against Novak.Novak will need to improve when he plays Domi in his s/final match.
Is it just me are these courts playing slower than last year?
They said they changed the surface in 2016, I think, so theoretically for 4 years. But they did say the court is bouncier this year. And, presumably the O2 doesn't keep courts there permanently? Or maybe they do, but if they resurface every year, it could change.

usually committed by lowlifes like Tomic and Nick
You are high life? Takes a lot to get to that level, in a competitive sport like tennis. Easy to be critical and insulting on a couch.

NOW? I don't watch every match & can't remember them all as I once could, but Sascha's always had an issue w/ serving or am I losing it?
Sorry for the confusion, I meant NOW in contrast to Rafa or Stefano, not in a timing reference that suddenly Zverev just got them.

Everyone can have bad serving days , but I define yips as among other things having the habit of 2, 3 or more consecutive DF’s in critical junctures, Zverev whose serve can be a formidable weapon can practically default a whole game with DF’s when his yips flare up.

A couple of "you have to be kidding me" great shots at the end of the set there by Medvedev.

I'm midlife. :lulz1:

I'm glad to see somebody defend the attitude of these two wayward Aussies, but I think that having gotten to that level, they've wasted themselves - Nick more so because he has a great talent...

Medvedev seems very confident this week, and probably feels like there's nobody can stop him in this form. He's probably right, and it's very impressive to see. Rafa will need to be at his best tomorrow to sow seeds of doubt in the big lad...

Credit to Schwartzman for successfully lobbing the big man there.

Medvedev is winning this very fast, Diego is facing the best of him, and it's an ominous display for us Rafa fans. Only that we know Rafa's fighting capabilities, I'd be pessimistic...

I didn't understand this match going 1st! Are they really expecting a dogfight with little ol' Schwartzy this afternoon/evening? Please! If Daniil rests like Thiem I suppose there's a chance it can be a contest, but not likely! Med needs the points, underachieving for quite a while until of late! He has the game to challenge everyone, but he comes and goes with his best efforts!

I always laugh at myself when I respond to Fiero, since he has me on ignore, but this is a bone-headed comment. They put Djokovic v. Zverev on first because they expected that match to go long, and precisely because they didn't expect Medvedev v. Schwartzman to go long. Or, a cynical person might think they were favoring their 2 marquee players. ;)
Nadal has something to prove, but not sure he can make it! Why now of all times when Nole was the oldest to win 5 years ago? This isn't a normal season where everyone should be burned out, I expect more out of Nadal! If he doesn't take advantage of these circumstances, he never will win a YEC; just like this year at the FO for Nole! That was his best chance to add to his totals and he just didn't show up for that final! The first game was telling! If he can't close out that game, he was going to struggle all day long; and he did! It was hard to watch until he showed up sometime late in the 3rd!
Never say never, but this is a good chance for Rafa. On the other hand, you're right: although Novak hasn't lost that many matches this year, when he has, they were stinkers.

Another impressive display from Danni 63 63 over Diego.
He more than did his job. Got it done in 1 hr. 13 minutes, which was the first order of business. On top of that, he hit 31 winners and played great. The only guy to go undefeated into the SFs?

The Russian is the only one to get through to the SFs without losing. You think he’s going to win the title?
I said that yesterday,if Danni can keep his level up after his match against Novak,to me he is the player this year to win the final.
Danni found his form in Paris....continues his good form in London

In saying that I think Danni is the player to beat this year,as a Rafa fan I hope he has something to say about that in his s/final match,
I would love Rafa to Finally Win a title in London!

They said yesterday that if Medvedev should win it, he'll be the first player since Djokovic to go 0-3 in his debut at the YEC, then win it the next year.

Ditto. But if he beats Rafa tomorrow, Danni is my pick and my favorite.

I think if he beats Rafa, I'd like to see Thiem reach the final, I think they'd have a great match, and it would be more interesting. If Rafa wins tomorrow, I don't mind who he faces in the final, they'll both be favourite ahead of him...
