WTF...does not make any sense..why would Rafa decide to play with that qloryfied pusher..i don't like that big Aussie sissy at all..
Front242 said:The "glorified pusher" still hung fine with Nadal even after bilateral hip replacements...maybe he could actually teach him a few tricks too. How to hit winners with two gammy hips for a start.
Carol35 said:Then what kind of tricks is going to teach him and for what?! with or without hips replacements he doesn't have anything to teach him, as player and as person
I've watched but it doesn't tell me anything. Nadal knew to make winners and also winning MS and GS even when his knee was in bad conditions, that was a good lesson for the othersFront242 said:Carol35 said:Then what kind of tricks is going to teach him and for what?! with or without hips replacements he doesn't have anything to teach him, as player and as person
You clearly didn't watch the highlights. If he can barely move and still only lose by a single break because he was hitting winners everywhere I'd say he could teach Nadal a lot.

He was never unable to move to that degree, besides possibly 1 set of the AO 2014 and even then ran down more balls than Tomic. Tomic barely moved for any balls and still hit tons of winners. Nadal never won any grand slam with a bad knee btw.

You are making it sound like Tomic was in a wheelchair for crying out loud. Round of 64 is round 2 in a slam, how the hell did Tomic get past round 1 if he was so injured, don't be ridiculous.
Tomic isn't a very explosive guy, and his movement is utter crap, especially when he gets lazy and starts tanking. He has a nice game, and I would call him talented (not insanely talented) but he is just missing quite a few screws up there, and one could argue that he isn't even committed to tennis full time with all the partying he does.
As for the winners, he doesn't really blast that many winners, that is no secret. He does have a tendency to push the ball, even though the dude has some fine firepower, he opts to just push it back into play. As he doesn't take the ball early, you can imagine what kind of horrible errors he can produce with this strategy.

Did you watch it properly? He barely ran for any balls there at all and there were many points where he stayed static and just changed the direction of the ball to hit winners by moving nothing but his arms and torso. It was a first round match btw. Video is labelled incorrectly on Youtube.
