RE: Rafa, by Roddick

Only a foolish commentator would write Nadal off, but form isn't a temporary thing, it's something that players have over a period of time, and so although Rafa has put in some very good performances this season, he hasn't gotten himself into any kind of decent form. It's more a one step forward and two steps back situation. But no commentator would prescribe this as being permanent, the best that any of them can say is "probably", while accepting that things can change...

There is zero wrong with the assessment that Nadal "probably" won't win another slam again. If you watch him playing right now, it's hard to be too confident that he will. Let's not blow this out of proportion with oversensitivity. I wouldn't even call what Roddick said "negative." It's just an informed guess.

"Informed guess", that's all he is doing but maybe it's because I haven't listened to his analysis as much as McEnroe, Wilander, Cahill and other ex pro's opinions.

What I'm seeing is there is too much expeculation and expectation about what Nadal has and is going to do "he will retire soon" " he needs another coach" " he needs to change his game" " he probabably will win one GS or none" "I guess" "who knows" blah blah blah tec etc etc
Hey, we'll see :popcorn
